I sent in my application, but I'm afraid I'm a year too young.

DAYUM!!!

That application reads like you're applying for a government job!

LOL!

:0)

Geeeez. The "application" should be renamed "my life in twenty pages or less.

Who's in? Sewing Siren? Gorgeous? Who else?

NYCourier: LIE!

Actually, I'm afraid for any of the TLo minions to actually be on the show because they might get shredded here.

I've been worried that PR might just peter out now that Le Miz will be front and center in Bravo's coveted Thursday night spot and he's grabbed Fern Malis for his show.

Season 6 starts this summer, right? Any news on the day and time yet? It will be interesting to see which Bravo show they try to knock right off the page.

Glad to see PR Season 7 going full speed ahead and that the franchise will continue. Hope PR goes on as long as Law & Order.

Oh dear.

I'm too young.

Sigh.

Oh, honey, you know we're going to be talking about your here : )

Good luck!

I know what you mean. That is, I'd apply myself but -- correct me if I'm wrong -- I think you have to know how to design clothes, right? And make patterns? And, um, sew?

You also have to be able to say "licious" several times or spit on your fabric or think that you're a legend in your own head.

YAY!!!!!! That means more Project Runway. I love it!!!!

Not to mention curse and insult a contestant's mother.

I would LOVE to see filled out applications for previous contestants.

Me, too.

Great news, Tlo! Now if only I could sew...

Oh darlings, I would love to do it, but I won't be 21 in time!

Hahahahahahahahahaha! Snort!

No, I don't think I want to apply to be a contestant. A guest judge? Now THAT I'd do in a heartbeat!

I would, but I, too, am too young!

We need to start a massive email campaign to insist on TLo as guest judges.....Bravo should get down on their collective knee and beg - no one has done so much for a network as our boyz!!

that has got t be the LONGEST application i have ever seen!
BUT THEY ARE COMING TO ATLANTA!!!! i wanna just go see the people lined up outside...where ever they are holding auditions

"Brooklyn Bomber said: I'd apply myself but -- correct me if I'm wrong -- I think you have to know how to design clothes, right? And make patterns? And, um, sew?"

I know how to do all that - but costumes are more my thing. Though I do have an unorthodox pattern making method for myself; I lie down on the paper and trace around myself (it works). So I'd be one of those designers they cast for the wacky-factor.

Tlo would have a field day & I would love it! (And I would never even send my friends here to pretend to be lawyers and post veiled, idiotic threats about snarky bloggers being sued).

Gotham Tomato, you and I make costumes the same way.

Please Gotham Tomato! Please sign up!
You would have an instant fan club...

Not only am I too young, but incapable of sewing a straight line... ask my sewing teacher who tried to teach me a few years ago... when I was 9.

Not to mention throw cats at people when they are sleeping.

"Bunim-Murray Productions"

The hideousness and bottom feeding exploitation methods of Bunim-Murray being associated with Project Runway still depresses the hell out of me.

iirc: Didn't Jay say to Wendy Pepper that PR isn't Survivor, it is a competition based on talent? Jay is absolutely right, it isn't supposed to be Survivor, BM.Please, remember that.

In the paraphrased words of Mr. Martini's bartender, Nick- "We don't need design-ally challenged 'characters' to give the joint 'atmosphere'".

We'll see. Season 5 aside..it was nice while it lasted. Though, hopefully the B-M trogs will raise the bar from their usual MTVesque suck-fests.

"Not to mention throw cats at people when they are sleeping".

and one to throw up the devil horns while designing gloves of salad for the evil tranny from hell.

another to inappropriately laugh like a demented hyena in heat.

and one more to do the self satisfied namby pamby dance when she finds out they REALLY like her.

So to be a contestant you have to sign away the rights to anything in your portfolio you include as part of your application. That sounds like a great deal.

And it seems there is a sister show in the works called "Models of the Runway" - does that mean it actually will mean something when Heidi tells them that, "models, this is a competition for you too"

For everyone who can't get enough Project Runway - there's also Project Runway CANADA.

IMAN hosts it. She is AMAZING on this show.

The same level of talent is there - and you can get your PR fix in the offseasons!

Seriously, jump on it.

Nice ref. Bit of a stretch, but nice.

that hasn't stopped a few contestants in past seasons.......

AWESOME!!!!

Well, we know that ain't happening. So get ready for the drunken idiot-rittled orgies with the contestants, and sub-par efforts to do any work. Traditional BM staples.

You know, I'm a little tired of of the old format -- It would e awesome if if each designer got construction support (imagine the blood on the wall when someone's seamstress effs up). Wait, instead of repicking the models each week (it's not like they bring anything to the table) designers could vie for their favorite techy. "Jervaise! Bitch! Consuala is mine."

Agreed about PR Canada--I enjoy it so much more than most of the American version. There's a channel on YouTube called PRCanada.

Gary,
It is true that professional clothing designers rarely have anything to do with the actual construction of the garments. They do have knowledge of the craft, however. Anyone on the level of their career that the applicants of this show would be, should certainly still be in touch with these skills.
The physical act of sewing for many hours is very hard on your body and can produce plenty of stress/drama for the designers especially with the time constraints given by the show.
Any designer who would be interested in appearing on the show would certainly have enough time between now and the time the show tapes to become proficient enough to sew at the level that is expected (for the show) with daily practice.
Pattern making and draping is another story. A designer just starting out on their own, unless they have a enormous amount of capital, would most certainly be making the first pattern or drape. And these are skills that a designer must have if any new territory is to be covered in the designing.

Off topic a bit, but Bravo released descriptions of all its new shows, including a show about Laura Bennett.

Laura's show is "In Development," which means it might not happen at all. Thank god - it sounds dreadful.

I'm going to fill out the application tonight. My chances are pretty low, considering I don't even know how to do knitwear yet, and I haven't learned to drape pants yet, but there's no harm in trying, right?

Right?

Had a machine given to me as a gift and I decided to try to learn to sew, thanks to my PR addiction.

...I now have an entirely new appreciation for what the designers go through to construct a garment. The toll on the body is tremendous, and to keep doing it day after day, with so little downtime?

Good luck to the contestant wannabes. Can't wait for the new season(s) to begin!

While you're waiting for the PR season to start, how about sinking your fangs into the Season 2 PR Canada finale collections?

Cool!!! More PR!!!!

Hey boys. Now, I hope this isn't blasphemy, but are you going to give a look to the new BRAVO show replacing Project Runway? I hear that viewers will be able to call in to vote for their favs and who should go, something along the lines of American Idol. The Mag tie in is Harpers Bazar (I guess Anna Wintour doesn't like Bravo). Just curious.

Has anyone recieved an invite as a semifinalist yet???

has anyone recieved an invite and is a semi-finalist on the show???
