Darlings, are you excited? We are! The Fashion Show starts in a week, and based on what we've been hearing, it should prove to be very interesting.
What have we been hearing? Well, we've been hearing that it's pretty much everything you liked about PR with corrections made to everything you hated about it. There will be a mini-challenge and an elimination challenge in the each episode, and each episode will end with a fashion show and a winner decided by both the judges and a live studio audience, which will consist of some major fashion insiders. No models clumping down a plywood runway on a mostly empty set, instead, they've done their best to replicate a real (albeit scaled down) fashion show experience each week. And the runway set looks fabulous. Also, there's no mentor for these bitches. You might not like the sound of that, but we do. There's only one Tim Gunn and it was a better idea to do away with the role completely rather than shove a cheap imitation in there.Check out the preview videos. At the end, you'll see a menu that connects you to a host of other videos about the show. After the last season of PR, when Bravo just didn't give a shit and did almost nothing to promote it, they're pulling out all the stops for this one.
We'll always be fans of the original, but we're really hoping that Bravo has a major hit with this one. They deserve it. And we suspect the buzz on this show must be good, otherwise why would Lifetime push back the premiere of the long-awaited season 6?

Squeeeeeee!
4/30/09, 10:09 AM
Weeee!
I screamed louder than a hooker in church!
(not really...teehee!)
4/30/09, 10:09 AM
I like that Bravo pretty much said "whatever, we don't need you" to the greedy Weinstein. I am not happy about PR being on Lifetime, but failing to follow your contract (which has gotten you tons of money) is not okay. That said, I'm looking forward to a new Bravo show that has nothing to do with real housewives or matchmaking!
4/30/09, 10:17 AM
Oooh. Looks interesting. Looks like Bravo got custody of Treseme. And I'm sure Le Miz will bring a good combination of 'Been There & Got the Quips to Prove it'.
And, am I crazy or does it look like they raised the production value? (ie; better photography).
But what's up with the lawn jockey?
--GothamTomato
4/30/09, 10:22 AM
Lifetime is, undoubtedly, delaying PR because it is a condition of the settlement between Bravo and the Weinsteins.
4/30/09, 10:22 AM

4/30/09 10:17 AM
Reynaldo? No, that's West Side Story
Reymundo? You know, 'Applachian housewife surfer barbie'?
Naw. But she looks hella interesting!
4/30/09, 10:22 AM
Not Bernardo, either.
I don't know WHO that is...
4/30/09, 10:24 AM
"There's only one Tim Gunn and it was a better idea to do away with the role completely rather than shove a cheap imitation in there."
You're damn right! Although with both Tim and Isaac associated with fashion reality-tv shows, who the hell is in the office taking care of business at Liz? ;)
As for Blahvo's promotion, they need this show to be a hit. I don't even watch it anymore thanks to Real Housewives marathons and that dreadful show about the matchmaker. I don't think I'm the only one.
Thanks for the clips TLo!
4/30/09, 10:31 AM
I am thrilled already!! The runway and set and excitement in the audience is GREAT! And Fern and Elie Tahari?? How fab is THAT??
I'm stoked.
So sick of the vapid housewives and sleazy matchmaker and her equally sleazy "clients"!!
Can't wait!!! I may get hives from the pure excitement!

"anon said: Reynaldo? No, that's West Side Story"
No one dressed like that in West Side Story. Not even Anita.

OHMYGOD I fucking love Isaac!!!!
4/30/09, 10:36 AM

4/30/09, 10:37 AM
Not loving the live audience bit, we'll see...Never liked the whole "America Decides" idea...America has no taste!

And how could I forget?: I hope YOU BOYS get to leave your tush prints in two of those chosen seats, at one of those Runway Shows.
If Bravo doesn't tap you boys for that, they are CRAZY. They must know that you two don't just have the biggest following on the web (the only one that matters); What you also have a following of people who only watch Bravo shows so they can follow what YOU say about them.
You have saved their ratings asses, so the least they can do is provide your asses with an honored seat around that triangle.

AWESOME!!!
4/30/09, 10:48 AM
Cool, that means TLO recaps! YAY!!!!
4/30/09, 10:51 AM
I think Isaac is perfect for this type of show. He's funny and sharp without crossing the line into being nasty and mean-spirited.

Keeping up the fabulousness ain't cheap, ya know?

Bleeding for fashion! Yes, indeed.
4/30/09, 10:54 AM
Check out the introduction video. Best line comes in the last 15 seconds when Kristin says: I'm in the weirdest summer camp . You got the boy with the wooden shoes, the "panty-Christ" and Merlin the magic wizard. (She is going to be fun, no??)
4/30/09, 10:54 AM
I really want to watch this, but I got rid of cable tv and no longer get bravo. My only hope is some kind soul posts the episodes on youtube. would be nice if bravo posted their episodes online like nbc does.

"GO AND CRY"
YES!!! DRAMA!!!!
God, I can't wait!
4/30/09, 11:09 AM
KRISTIN, WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!
4/30/09, 11:10 AM
OMG! I hate to say it bit I'm more excited about this than I was the last three seasons of PR.
I love Love LOVE Isaac so much and he look so much fun in this. I t looks like Project Catwalk fron tne UK too. Which I also loved and am so sad it gone.
4/30/09, 11:12 AM
I love the runway. So cool.
I'm so excited! I can't wait!
4/30/09, 11:13 AM
I hate to say it but it looks ten times better than Project Runway.

"ULLE said...

Me too. I hope we get to see more of the clothes. Do you hear that Bravo?
4/30/09, 11:20 AM
Dear God! If Stan doesn't invite me over to watch this show I'm gonna have a nervous break down!!!
I just know T and Lo are going to be in the insider audience at some point. They HAVE to be!!
4/30/09, 11:23 AM
If these previews are any indication, Bravo has knocked it out of the box.
Nobody call me on Thursday nights.
4/30/09, 11:28 AM
Is it just my failing eyesight or is the Chicago gal (whose friends are here raving about her stellar sense of humor) missing from the group shot?
Loving the previews. Very wise to not have a mentor.
4/30/09, 11:44 AM
"But what's up with the lawn jockey?"
Hahahahahahahaha! Snort!
Seriously, I walked by the Jockey Club not long ago and I think he was the one on the middle-right up above.
I love me some Isaac and can't wait for this show!
4/30/09, 11:45 AM
Merlin..... oh he's gonna be fun!!
4/30/09, 12:02 PM
I can't wait!
(But I still want my PR, too)
4/30/09, 12:07 PM
I kind of like the idea of what Top Chef calls a "quickfire" challenge in each episode. "Your time ... starts NOW" and mad scramble for materials.
If TLo aren't invited to participate in this show I won't watch a second season. Bravo owes you guys BIG time.
Looking forward to your screencaps of this one! woo hoooooo!!!
4/30/09, 12:22 PM
I think Merlin might already be a national treasure. And "I make people disappear" was a pretty good line. Sure, it's no "panty-Christ," but still.
Looks good. So looking forward to recaps.
4/30/09, 12:36 PM
YAY! I'm even gonna dig deep and subscribe to a higher tier of programming just to see it !
4/30/09, 12:42 PM
RICO! get your hustle on, I'll be watching what happens.
4/30/09, 12:43 PM
You know, I can't get on the "TLo has to be invited to participate" bandwagon, just as I wasn't on the "Why aren't TLo asked to be PR judges?" one that cropped up every so often.
One of the reasons this blog is so great is that there isn't any "official" connection between our guys and the show(s) they critique.
I say, let the bitchery go on untainted by any possibilty or suggestion of bias. And let the games begin!
4/30/09, 1:44 PM
I'm hooked!
This show is PR's older, richer, better educated sister!
It's obvious Bravo is giving the finger to the Weinstein's w/ a higher end, more realistic look @ the commercial fashion process.
I already love Rico, Kristin, & Merlin.
Lawn Jockey!
GT, you're a hoot!

Yes, we noticed that too. We wonder what happened there.

i can't wait! does anyone know if itunes will be offering it on a season pass?
4/30/09, 2:03 PM
I'm definately watching even though I still snicker that Kelly Rowland is a part of this show. Her skills with fashion are questionable at best!
4/30/09, 2:03 PM
"panty-Christ" FTW!
I hope Kristin was sick for the promo shot or something and not nixed first. Hooray for a return to Bravo viewing.
4/30/09, 2:47 PM
YES!!!!!!!
4/30/09, 2:48 PM
I love the previews! I guess we can expect a lot of drama and over-inflated egos.
4/30/09, 3:07 PM
Wasn't Marcus on an episode of the TLC version with Ms. Whitaker? Didn't he lose pretty badly? Did Bravo get sloppy seconds?

Bravo also got Fern Mallis, so PR lost out on the mentorship and the other mentorship-type guidance that were a part of the PR award package. Now, the PR prizes are greatly diminished.
I want to hate this program out of loyalty to Tim Gunn. But no matter how disloyal I feel, it looks like this will be genuine fun. The key distinguishing factor here, it seems to me, is the entire cast is composed of experienced, successful designers who already have their own lines. That should really ramp up the quality of the garments produced in the challenges.
4/30/09, 6:12 PM
LOL @ 'The Panty Christ'

ROFLMAO.

It looks awesome. I'm really excited about it. I can't wait for May 7th.
4/30/09, 9:38 PM
I guess one the main differences is that the designers have a lot more experience and that will certainly reflect on whatever they create. I trust Bravo, I think they'll do a great job.
4/30/09, 9:41 PM
KRISTIN IS GOING TO KICK ASS!!!!!!
4/30/09, 10:29 PM
So which one is the crier?
4/30/09, 10:34 PM
I'm reserving judgment. Mizrahi + Mallis maybe; Kelly Roland - sorry, no.
You valiantly tried to sell us 'the RZP' and 'stylista' (both of which were beyond atrocious) and, more recently, the progressively tragic and appalling 'running in heels'. (Shame on you, TLo!!)
I'm left thinking this will be yet more awkward and embarrassing commercial product placement, interspersed between episodes of gratuitous, contrived and juvenile psychodrama. :(
4/30/09, 10:48 PM
"You valiantly tried to sell us 'the RZP' and 'stylista' (both of which were beyond atrocious) and, more recently, the progressively tragic and appalling 'running in heels'. (Shame on you, TLo!!)"
So it's their fault the shows sucked?

It's very simple, just skip the post about what you don't care to watch or talk about, or even better, skip the blog altogether.
5/1/09, 12:39 AM
Dear Bravo,
If you are reading this then you already know how fabulous TLo are. You also know how much they have helped you out when the Weinsteins had 'issues'.
Please reward them now with at minimum seats in the audience and a turn or two in judges' row. They won't disappoint you.
Sincerely,
kjt, a TLo minion
5/1/09, 1:06 AM
My only issue is Kelly Rowland...WTF? Yes I know she was with Destiny's Child, but WTF? I already know she is going to get on my nerves!
5/1/09, 7:21 AM
Happy happy joy joy, Fashion Show plus your recaps!!!

I am such a PR addict - and those videos were a welcome hit of my drug of choice! I have missed me some Project Runway from before it turned into Court TV. I think we may have a winner here, if only for the TLo recaps.
Watching these designers do what they do in a high stress environment - like summer camp held in a marijuana field - only weird if you don't inhale.
5/2/09, 5:09 PM
I wish Iman was the third host, she is the best host of all project runways.
5/2/09, 10:48 PM
I'm pained over the loss of the fabulous Tim Gunn. He was a huge reason for me to watch the show, I absolutely adore him.
Well, I don't get cable anymore, anyway, so I'll only catch the highlights (or get it on DVD, when it comes out).
5/3/09, 7:41 PM
I can't wait to see the show but I am kinda against the 'America Decides' part as well. Too often we decide on personality rather than Skill.
5/4/09, 8:04 AM
Every time I see that opening pic I keep asking, "Why is John Leguizamo crying?"
5/4/09, 12:59 PM
I second C'est Moi. I have abandoned Bravo to its Real Housewife stable (there's a New Jersey one now evidently? Really, who is watching these besides that boy from Shear Genius?) I'll tune back in for this and for Top Chef but they need some new ideas desperately.
Why btw is there no second season of Step It Up and Dance? I loved that show and I thought it did passably well.

I wish someone would ship these tacks heffas to Iraq.
Who finds these snobbish, spoiled, selfish cows entertaining?
5/5/09, 3:15 PM
So agree about Bravo and its stupid "Real" (yeah, right) Housewives and boring matchmaker.
My only question is how Mizrahi will be as host. I worry that he might end up being as annoying as Jonathan Adler was/is on "Top Design," which is to say included in the Geneva Conventions definition of torture. I hope I'm wrong -- I really want to love this show!
5/5/09, 4:10 PM
I'm looking forward to this. And yes, there is only one Tim Gunn, and Bravo doesn't have him anymore(sniff, sniff),so there is no point in attempting to find anyone to fill that role.
5/5/09, 4:13 PM
I don't even watch it anymore thanks to Real Housewives marathons and that dreadful show about the matchmaker. I don't think I'm the only one.
I put up with Bravo for Make Me a Supermodel, but that's it. The network seems to be hanging its hat on the Real Housewives franchise and endless marathons of that....ick. And Who TF would even care about the real housewives of New Jersey, let alone watch them?
5/5/09, 4:19 PM
My only question is how Mizrahi will be as host. I worry that he might end up being as annoying as Jonathan Adler was/is on "Top Design," which is to say included in the Geneva Conventions definition of torture.
What a relief to know that I was not the only one who found Jonathan to be a tad annoying...could we please ban "J'adore" from public usage?
I do like Isaac, and hope that he'll be a bitchy delight to watch.
And, Bravo got Fern Mallis-great move!
5/6/09, 1:31 AM
I can't wait for this! Isaac Mizrahi's going to be great. Plus, the setup for the runway looks fabulous. I'm not so sure on the audience getting to decide, but I guess we'll see how that works out.
James-Paul reminds me of a knock-off of Christian Siriano (plus, he also worked with Vivienne Westwood).
Can't wait to see Merlin in action. He will definitely make for interesting TV.
5/6/09, 8:14 AM
Oh, Thursday nights!

I will now be a zombie on Friday mornings at work.
Hope TFS dosen't suck.
