Darlings, we're off to the tents this chilly Manhattan morning, so content will be a little on the light side. Since we have no idea what to expect from this weirdly anonymous fashion show, we don't know how much twittering we'll be doing. Not as much as last season's runway show, because how interesting is it to get a tweet proclaiming "Some designer we don't know and can't see just sent an ugly dress down the runway!" At any rate, check back here for updates. At the very least,we'll let you know what Heidi and Nina are wearing and who the guest judge is.
Oh! And we'll have the pictures from Leanne's and Christian's shows up as soon as we get back.
You can follow our twitter here.

Take some pictures of the Tlo commentors that won the tickets, too. How exciting, have fun!
2/20/09, 8:28 AM
OK, did I miss something? The finalists won't be introducing their lines? How is this going to work?
2/20/09, 9:00 AM
Amy, if they had the finalists appear there would be a reveal that would undercut the premise of the show, that is, Season 6. This Bryant Park runway show has to be anonymous for the contestants.
It is weird, though, to be sure - there's no context for the collections, no idea of the several designers' points of view, how each might have developed during the competition.
Difficult to evaluate with no background!
Good luck, TLo and your ticket-winning guests!
All the best,
NDC

who is Suzy Mencken?????
2/20/09, 9:29 AM
You guys have to get over your aversion to high-waisted pants. They are much more attractive on women who have less than ideal bodies than hiphuggers. Not everyone is built like a stick, you know.
2/20/09, 9:32 AM
this is cool, because right after the new season starts (if it does) we can start playing: "Whose collection was at Bryant Park?" maybe even after a few episodes we could tell.....
2/20/09, 9:36 AM
ok, I couldn't find Suzy Mencken, but I found Suzy Menkes in Wikipedia
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Suzy Menkes (born 24 December 1943) has been head fashion reporter and Editor for the International Herald Tribune since 1988.

To Anonymous at 9:27 -
Suzy Mencken is a style/gossip/society journo who's been on the New York scene for decades.

Whoops, misspelling on my part. I think TLo and I are harkening back to H.L. Mencken.
Thanks, MommyCA!

2/20/09, 9:45 AM
what do you mean "that's it?"
only 3 collections????
2/20/09, 9:46 AM
thanks NDC for the info!
2/20/09, 9:47 AM
maybe because they are all anonymous designers, they don't need decoys! so it's just 3 finalists!
2/20/09, 9:52 AM
It sounds from here and BPR as if it was a fifteen minute blip.
Photos of Christians were up on Getty images last night, haven't looked for LeAnne's this morning, expected to spend an hour here reading.
2/20/09, 10:21 AM
There are decoys when the episode determining who the finalists will be hasn't aired yet. Since nothing has aired, no need for decoys.
So Suzy Menkes was the guest judge, is that it?
2/20/09, 11:42 AM
Does anyone who went to the show with TLo have any comments on(or pictures of) the show?
2/20/09, 11:50 AM
There are pictures up on Getty Images

Heidi in Bright Pink.

Yes, TLo minions who went to Leanne's or Malan's or the PR show -- let's hear from you!

Thank you, a! An appreciated service from you.
Hmmm, just took a wee squint at the tiny pix, many on the page, at Getty. Not much color, and not a lot of variety, or so it seems.
The cocktail/evening wear with the reverse pyramid tulle skirts are... well, why do two? Talk about a hippy line those two outfits create.
Hmmm. I'm bemused.
All the best,

Ok, Heidi's pink suit is hideous. Seriously, she looks fantastic about 99% of the time, but every once in a while, she pulls out some seriously fugly costumes.
2/20/09, 12:30 PM
Her suit looks too small for her. I realize it's supposed to be shrunk, but too much...And her head looks tiny. Or Tim's looks huge.
2/20/09, 12:35 PM
Amanda looks fabulous but it that collection she's in is a explosion of draping
The knits are kind of interesting and the there's a close up of 1 of the black outfits that has very interesting print and details

I took lots of pics at the show and put them up on my blog!
Thanks again TLo! You guys are the best!
2/20/09, 12:42 PM
Heidi's lipstick is just too dark. It makes her look old.

Why,why, WHY are there Lohans?

Just got back from the show...there was a HUGE disconnect in my section between women, and the industry people. Every woman in my area was gasping and going crazy for the second collection, I kept hearing "I want that, and that, and that". But the industry people loved the third collection, "Interesting, structured, leather" The woman all said that in the second collection people would think that they looked beautiful, in the third collection people wouldn't notice them except to say "Your outfit is interesting". Make of that what you will.
Also,...you wouldn't believe what Jay was wearing! (Including about a GALLON of Pacholi Oil)
2/20/09, 12:56 PM
from peaking at the pics on Getty Images, Amanda looks amazing in a draped blue dress and then I liked a lot a light brown cardigan (with a hoodie). It seems there were very nice knits in one of the collections.
Heidi looks nice in the pink suit, but the lipstick and the hair were too much.... whose designer was the suit? and who was Nina wearing?

Wow!
Suzy Menkes is guest judge?
Wow.
Guess I'll have to go check out Getty pix.
2/20/09, 1:51 PM
There's a photo of Jay on NY Courier's blog.
But he can't compete with the color that Heidi wore. She learned from Posh a good lesson in how to stand out in a crowd.
2/20/09, 2:08 PM
Hmmm.... Just looked at Getty.
Seems that Bob Weinstein was there. But Harvey didn't dare show up?
VERY STRANGE not knowing the designers. I imagine that took a lot of fun out of the show.
I guess there was no after-party?
We can't wait for more dish!
2/20/09, 2:43 PM
Well, blogging project runway has posted the pics of the collections. The third is definitely the winner. has a strong POV, interesting clothes, and well made.
The second collection is pretty good, but less focused.
The first collection is amateur.
I really can't see the judges picking any collection other than the third.
2/20/09, 3:18 PM
In that photo, Heidi looks highly uncomfortable to have been squeezed into Nina Garcia's suit.
2/20/09, 3:21 PM
I just can't get over feeling badly for the designer-contestants. Such a huge disconnect between their general public exposure (assuming the darn show ever airs) & their shot at showing to a segment of the fashion industry.
Sad to suffer through the project runway adventure, make the finals and then lose that exploitable synergy.
2/20/09, 4:12 PM
Yikes, what the hell is Heidi wearing?!
2/20/09, 4:57 PM
"Sarah said...
Why,why, WHY are there Lohans?"
Because there are cameras there.

Oh boy, back to having dark and muted hued collections.

ANNOUNCEMENT:
I just spoke with Tlo, and they've asked me to let you all know that these posts are just preliminary. They took time out of their whirlwind NYC trip, to get these posts up quickly, because they knew all their devoted peeps were hungry for the details.
They are currently on the train, on their way back to Philly, and as soon as they get home, they will be posting more pictures (including close-ups, and more detail).
So fear not, and enjoy these cocktail hour nibblies: The main course is coming later.

"desertwind said: Seems that Bob Weinstein was there. But Harvey didn't dare show up?"
When Tim came out, one of the things he said in his remarks was that Harvey & Bob Weinstein 'couldn't be here today", not noticing that Bob was sitting right there in the first row. Then someone pointed it out to him. That was amusing.

Heidi looked fabulous.
In the picture where she is standing next to Tim she looks ten feet tall.
2/21/09, 3:20 AM
What the hell is Heidi wearing?
What happened to that gorgeous dress she wore for the show last season? Can we get that Heidi back please? That's the Heidi that I have an enormous crush on.
