Golden Globe Awards - Part 3

Let's bring this one home, shall we?

Anne Hathaway in Armani Privé Fall 2006 Couture

We liked this one. Loved the color on it even if the silhouette is so very done on the red carpet. That bodice fits her a little funny though.

And she's too skinny.

Amanda Seyfried wearing Stella McCartney

Beautiful gown and the hair and makeup are to-die. The only problem is that the color (or lack of) makes her look washed out.

Beyoncé in Elie Saab Spring 2008

This would look fine if it was actually in her size. Her tits are threatening to boycott the dress and her hips are stretching it to its limits. She has a lovely, curvy figure and she's unapologetic about it, which is great, but that doesn't mean the rules stop applying just because she likes to put it out there. Go up a size, girl. No one will think you any less sexy if you do.

Elisabeth Moss in vintage Givenchy

It's nice to see that Mad Men's Peggy cleans up well. The dress is cute, if a little too red, but the shoes are AWFUL.

Eva Mendes wearing Dior

Hey, nous adorons Dior as much as the next two fags, but this is pretty basic Dior. Just alright. And that bow or flounce or whatever it is is enormous.

Cameron Diaz in Chanel Fall 2008 Couture

Did she sleep in that and just roll out of bed and into a limo?

Drew Barrymore wearing John Galliano

We don't care if she looks a little crazy, we LOVE the hair. It's like Angie Dickinson rolling out of a Miami Beach hotel just after a romp with JFK. The dress is pretty too.

Kate Winslet wearing Yves Saint Laurent

Y'know, we love Kate and it's a beautiful dress...it's just too severe. Plus it's giving her a titshelf. Hair and makeup is FAB, though.

Miley Cyrus in Marchesa Spring 2009

She looks cute. No problems here.

Salma Hayek and her two co-stars wearing Bottega Veneta

We'd say the dress is a little dull but with those two puppies filling it, that's not possible.

Rumer Wilis in Reem Acra Pre-Fall 2009

It's a pretty color and a pretty (if a little too fussy and busy) dress. The hair, on the other hand, is an unmitigated DISASTER.

Tina Fey wearing Roberto Cavalli

MEGA-dull. And those straps make her boobs look small. And maybe she should try a little harder in the hair and makeup department if she's going to wear such an understated dress.

Does anyone else think the Miley Cyrus has WAY too much cleavage for 15? I mean, the dress is gorgeous, but for God's sake, tuck them in!

Anne Hathaway's dress was total dullsville, and seemed a little aging on her. The color is...eh.

Amanda Seyfried's dress is pretty, but yes, it would have looked better in color. Plus, the Grecian draping thing is pretty over now. I think she still has Mamma Mia on the brain.

Beyonce looks like crap, as always. I love her, and a lot of her music, but girl can seriously not dress herself. Gee, she's wearing something that's A, either gold or silver, B, festooned with sequins and jewels, and C, slit all the way up to her cooter?! NO FUCKIN' WAY!!! lol (I will admit, this is classier than usual for her. I'm sure she thinks it's "understated.")

Eva Mendes looks ridiculous. She also looks like she's getting married. White gowns need a little something so they don't like wedding dresses. Ginormo vagina bows don't count.

I thought Cameron Diaz's Chanel looked utterly disgusting on the red carpet, but am surprised to find it looks great on the model. It looks better with the sleeve...and ironed...and without the two-toned hair-wearing greasy acne pustule wearing it.

I agree, Drew looked great. The hair is crazy, but in a good way, and SO Angie Dickinson. Love her dress, and love the color on her. (The red clutch seems incongrous, though.)

I thought Kate Winslet looked classic as opposed to severe. It's a simple look, but it works on her. She is amazingly talented and beautiful.

Miley looks 15 going 35 in that dress. It's ok, but there are sooo much better things a young girl her age could wear. Marchesa for a 15-year-old? Really??

Rumer's dress is pretty but I feel like she has 8 miles of skin exposed above the bodice, like it doesn't fit right. Her hair was pretty bad, but overall I thought she looked better than she usually does. Did she have the Willis chin and jaw shaved down a few sizes in honor of the occasion?

Tina Fey...simple and attractive. I don't think "small boobs" is really an issue, considering most stars have the "ridiculously fake and squished porn boobs" problem. I mean, it's a plunging neckline...Laura's mosquito-bite boobs never seemed to bother you. (Tina didn't have a stylist though, and the makeup and hair shows it. Still, she looked good.)

I'm glad someone else picked up on that Angie Dickinson vibe with Drew's hair. I loved it, BTW. She's a little crazy, but it's always a fun-crazy, never a scary-crazy.

Thanks for the morning pick-me-up, TLo!

I would have loved that purple dress on Hathaway more if it had been just a tad brighter. However, with her ivory skin, dark eyes and hair, it was altogether a great and very classy look. Bravo to her. Do you really think she looked too skinny? I didn't get that.

Elizabeth Moss - hate that tomato red color, it's too bright for her, but so glad to see she didn't try to go Glamor Girl.

Note to Cameron Diaz: grow up, Cammy, baby, you're no teenager, run away from the Rachel Zoe hippie retread styling.

I'm glad you liked Drew B's hair, I also liked this version of her for a red-carpet appearance. I was alone on this among my buddies, but I thought her huge hair was great and balanced the shapeliness of the dress. I wonder, though, how long it took her to get out of that hair - the teasing, the extensions, the rats, whatever is in there. Girl has limp limp hair in the every-day.

I thought Tina Fey's dress was good for her. Kind of goes outside her persona. Again, good for her for not trying to go Glamor Girl.

It is so annoying to hear that every young actress without Grandma bingo arms needs to "eat a cheeseburger" or "gain some weight," especially since you can tell in many of these photos they aren't even nearly as small as the models. Some people are just thin! It's ok to be thin! Really, it is! Screeching that every size 4 needs to gain weight seems more like jealousy than any sort of realistic assessment. Should everyone look like Camryn Manheim? Would that finally please all of you?

I am wondering about these models picked for the Machesa gowns. They are so thin and sickly pale looking in the photos

I didn't mind Drew's hair either. It was unkept but in a funky kind of way and strangely enough it goes with that eyecatching dress

Frank

1. Anne Hathaway is stunning. So is the dress, but the make-up. Too much! She looks like the Joker.
2. Amanda is working it. On this one, the color looks right to me. The hair, make-up, jewelry, just right.
3. Beyonce is going for the JLo award. Too low, too tight, too high slit. The face however, is devine.
4. Yes, Elizabeth Moss dress is almost dayglow. The shoes are wrong, but the silhouette is good for her.
5. I love Eva's necklace. I don't hate the dress and applaud her for wearing white.
6.Cameron always looks a mess. Why?
7. Love it. Love the risk taking. Drew is probably the best dressed of the ones I've seen.
8. Boring Kate. If 3 of your best friends were getting married in the same year and they all ask you to stand up for them in a black evening gown of your choice, this would be the perfect dress. Otherwise no.
9. The bodice is too and it looks to mature for a young girl. At Miles age a funky cocktail length would have been better.
10. Selma is so pretty and the dress would be too if the bodice was about 2" higher.
11. I also think this dress is too old for Rumer. I wonder how it feels to have a mother with a face younger than your own? Not good, I bet.
12.Tina Fey, you are dismissed.

"ditto" on Drew's hair. Loved it. Others discussing on TV did not, which I couldn't believe. I think she has never looked better.

Cameron, on the other hand.... so is that really a look? People are really trying to go for the "I am growing my hair out so my roots are lighter" look. Every time I see her she has two tone. Can't the girl afford a good colorist?

Is Anne Hathaway's dress navy or purple? It looks distinctly navy to me, both online and on TV, but "another laura" has called it purple and I have seen some other online critics and commenters call it purple as well. Am I color blind? Is it one of those weird in-between shades?

______

Wow, that's quite a rant that you have there. How many of those "non-grandma-bingo" actresses that you speak of do you think are actually "just thin"? We all know the unrealistic weight expectations these girls are supposed to achieve and what they put themselves through to achieve them. They are not size 4s. They are size 0s. Saying that they are larger than models is no consolation... many models are even more scarily emaciated.

It's perfectly acceptable to suggest that it would be okay for an actress with ribs sticking out of her back to put on a little weight... in fact, her doing so would perhaps make such a body image more acceptable to the millions of women who unrealistically try to attain these impossible proportions. There IS some middle ground between Anne Hathaway and Camryn Manheim (who doesn't deserve to be lampooned for her weight), you know.

OH, wait. Maybe I'm just jealous. That must be it. I'm going to skip lunch and hit the gym, now.

Bravo Dani!

C'est moi, c'est moi Lola

"It's like Angie Dickinson rolling out of a Miami Beach hotel just after a romp with JFK. The dress is pretty too."

Good point TLo, given the 'I'm not even trying' hair we saw on others, (Ms. Diaz, Fey & Ms. Willis, I'm referring to you).

Tina Fey: funny writer but let's skip the plunging necklines in the future, no?

Salma Hayek: With co-stars like that, who's even looking at the dress? Oy, mamatchka! Do you think her and Beyonce had a competition going on? If they did, Salma surely won....

Love love LOVED Drew's look. She takes the cake on this event.

Anyone else think Amanda Sheyfried should never EVER wear dark lipstick? She always looks like a three year old after a glass of kool-aid.

Oh Dani, way to prove my point. Yes, there are people in Hollywood who are way too thin. But of course, the "eat a cheeseburger" thing is not directed solely at them - it's directed at anyone who isn't a size 16. "Ribs sticking out of their chests"? You must be fucking joking. Yes, that Anne Hathaway looks like quite the emaciated skeleton, with her warm glow and toned arms. It's cracks like that that make your stance look so disingenuous. Nicole Ritchie had ribs sticking out and was emaciated - Anne Hathaway is THIN. I love everyone's freaking out over size 2's and 4's while one third of our population is now OBESE. Funny how size 16 wasn't the average 100 years ago when people ate real food instead of processed 'Cheeze' products.

And I am sooooo tired of the lame "unrealistic body expectations" bullshit. If you're a young girl who's a size 8 and wants to be a size 0 'cause you saw one on TV, that's your own problem. No one makes those choices for others. Anyone with a brain realizes that not everyone can be thin. However, conversely, not everyone can be fat either. As someone who is a beanpole and could never put on weight, people's comments are severely annoying...especially when I at least look HEALTHY, which the people I have known with eating disorders did not, even though we were the same size.

So anyway, what do you propose? Anne Hathaway should do the 'responsible' thing and gain 30 pounds to make young girls feel better about themselves? Yeah, what a service in the age of teenage obesity and diabetes. If anything, maybe they should show celebrities walking the red treadmill instead of the red carpet, since apparently every young girl in the country does whatever movie stars do.

Hathaway- LOVE. Navy is always such a pretty color against very fair skin. I agree she's too skinny, though.
Amanda - Agreed on everything. She's such a pretty girl.
Beyonce - Agreed. Beautiful girl, beautiful bod, but why does she insist on always wearing things two sizes too small? She always looks cheap.
Elizabeth Moss - No makeup? No hairstyle? She looks like it's laundry day and she has nothing clean, so she threw on one of her party dresses to run to the corner market.
Eva Mendez - No. Just no.
Cameron - I hate that pink, but it is a good color for her. She looks good in brights. The dress is ugly, though.
Drew - I just love her! So pretty! That blue is divine on her. I get what she's going for with the hair, but I think maybe it's just a little TOO messy.
Winslet - Another favorite of mine. I think she looks great, but I agree about the titshelf.
Miley - Very nice and age appropriate.
Salma - She's so beautiful and curvy. Love.
Rumer - Not the best looking girl, but I think she looks good in this. I actually like the red hair for her; it makes her face look less severe somehow.
Tina Fey - Pretty, if a little bit boring. I agree about the hair and makeup. I think better jewelry would also go a long way.

Bravo Sewing Siren on Kate Winslet. "Black bridesmaid's dress" says it well. She's just so freaking beautiful and thank the gods her hair and makeup were excellent.

Anonymous at 11:58, the only one freaking out is you. Calm down and go have a cupcake.

Dani said...

OH, wait. Maybe I'm just jealous. That must be it. I'm going to skip lunch and hit the gym, now.

Haha, so going to the gym is a negative thing now? I'm with Anon. No wonder this country is obese.

Drew Barrymore wins!!! Love the hair, the dress, the makeup! The hair is so *her* considering her wild child past, but grown-up and glamorous.

Why did Tina take off the glasses? She's got a signature look with her glasses, and I didn't recognize her without them.

I don't think you can appreciate, much less like, Drew Barrymore's hair without the staging provided by the dress. It has that 60's glamour - presents her curves beautifully - and since it looks fantastic on her, I say the total package is my favorite of the event. Hands down winner. (Though I'm not sure about the color of the clutch. Is it the perfect accent, or a random dash of unrelated color?)

I'm with those who say Miley Cyrus is too young for the strapless evening look she's wearing.

Overall, (all three postings) I get an uncontrollable urge to hoist up most of the strapless gowns. Few seem to hit the happy medium between squeezing boobs almost into public display, and appearing about to slide right down, (with the added issue of making the wearer's bust line appear lower than it ought to be.)

And, is that *really* the best Elizabeth Moss can do with her hair?

I've decided that teens should not be allowed to wear strapless dresses until they have the poise and posture to not look completely uncomfortable. Miley and Rumer are both wearing gorgeous dresses but end up looking like they are playing dress up because they're so hunched over and worried looking. Just sew a tiny sleeve on both of those dresses and they would look much more comfortable and age appropriate.

OMG - that picture on the left of the side by side of Fey - I'd swear that was Melissa Gilbert.

Dani - I wasn't as thin as Miley Cyrus - but I had a rack a couple years younger than her. (And no Hollywood stylist prepping me.)

Anon - 11:31 AM Is that Johanna from Stylista - where everyone over a size 3 deserves death (and not "By Chocolate")?

I was going to say the same thing DAni - did Miley get implants or something?

Should everyone look like Camryn Manheim? Would that finally please all of you?

Yes....yes it would.

Drew with the Big Ass Hair made me smile and I think her dress may be my favorite of the night.

Miley Cyrus looked better in that dress then some of the trainwrecks she has worn before, still if it had not been strapless it would have been a good choice. (of course have you seen how trashy girls her age dress for Jr. Prom? Compared to those dresses Miley was looking pretty virginal.)

And while I loved Peggy's vintage dress, I hated the color on her.

Anne Hathaway: Color looks navy to me, love the gown, but her makeup is AWFUL.

Amanda Seyfried: Looks lovely, but I agree with TLo about the color of the gown...another shade of burlap.

Beyonce: Did somebody wrap her in swaddling clothes?

Elizabeth Moss: Cute, but is that a man's watch she's wearing? Whatever, it isn't right with the dress, ditto the shoes and bag.

Eva Mendes: Gorgeous necklace, but I dislike the double valance hanging from her waist.

Cameron Diaz: The usual mess

Drew Barrymore: My fave! If anyone can channel Angie Dickenson, it's Drew.

Kate Winslet: Classy

Miley Cyrus: Marchesa? She should be wearing a cute Betsey Johnson number.

Salma Hayek: No comment

Rumer Wilis: Giant Eggplant

Tina Fey: I actually like the dress, but she needs a stylist for accessories and hair.

Oh dear, dear Anonymous. I see your plight. It must be hard not to be a size 16. Obviously, you misread my comments.

I actually have never heard someone comment that a size 14 should go eat a cheeseburger and gain some weight. In a world where the size 8 on "America's Next Top Model" is referred to as "the fat girl," I see no one being pressured to become obese, nor did I refer to being obese as a positive thing My comments are not meant to encourage unhealthy weight gain. My comments are meant to respond to a ridiculous idea that Hollywood actresses are all natural size 4s!

I never actually referred to Anne Hathaway as emaciated, by the way. Tom and Lorenzo commented that she looks thin, and I would have to agree. We all know that she's slimmed down over and over again for her various movie rolls. That is not her natural weight. That doesn't mean that she's not healthy (which is debatable, as constant weight loss and gain is terrible for your body), but it that really necessary? I'm sure that she works out and avoids processed "Cheeze" products, but why should she be forced to go through extreme weight loss measures, as many other Hollywood actresses do? The human body is not meant to be tortured into such a shape, and I'm sorry that I object to this.

What's wrong with a size 8, anyway? It's a single digit! Perhaps the fact that you are such a "beanpole" has shielded you from the criticism fuller bodied women have to take. Nice to hear that you don't have an eating disorder, but what about women who do? There's a lot of pressure out there to be unrealistically thin, and women who succumb to that aren't all necessarily just weak in character "with their own problems." They're tired of feeling bad about themselves, and go the wrong way about fixing it.

I didn't suggest that Anne Hathaway should sit around eating cheeseburgers until she's a size 10. I suggested that if she's maybe a 6 instead of a 2, that should be acceptable.

Try and read that through and digest what I actually said before you add more comments, please.

No "ask." I believe my point was that not everyone who is a size 2 needs to "eat a cheeseburger." But thanks for like, not actually reading or understanding anything.

PS '3' is a junior size.

Teddy G., I actually didn't refer to working out or being healthy as a negative.

ask -

Oh, it's acceptable for her to have a rack, I just don't think they should be so on display. I too had breasts at 15... I wasn't wearing that.

Lol, Dani...just because you didn't say the words "Working out is negative!" doesn't mean that's not what you said. Isn't going to the gym what ALL of those "too thin" Hollywood girls does after they all skip lunch together?

Again, I think Anon had it right when she called you disingenuous. Are you really seriously crusading for womens' body images on Project Rungay? LOL

Actually, Teddy G., I think that the disingenuous person here is you. Go ahead and take my comments out of context and decipher what I "really" said. Everyone should get fat, working out is bad, etc. Fine. That's obviously not my message and picking at my words is not accomplishing anything. You know nothing about me, and have no context for these conclusions.

I'm not crusading. I just know a small-minded, ignorant comment when I see one and I wanted to call it out.

What is so wrong with Elisabeth Moss's shoes? Granted, the silver shoes paired with the bright red dress is a little "Christmas Cocktail Party," but I don't find them all that offensive.

Kate Winslet is voluptuous and beautiful. Anne Hathaway is thin and beautiful. Beyonce is voluptuous and beautiful. Cameron Diaz is thin and (used to be) beautiful.

None of their bodies are similar. Can't we all just accept that beautiful bodies can naturally come in all sizes? Yes, Hollywood and the fashion industry has problems with eating disorders, but I see no Lara Flynn Boyles or Ellen Pompeos here.

On to more dresses! Here's hoping there's a Part 4!

As for thinness, yep, there are thin people out there and I am one of them. But even in these photos, I look like I outweigh these chicks by 15 pounds. That heroin chic crud left over from Tom Ford's heyday is played. Be the healthy size you are 0 to 22.

Anne could use a meal, but despite the desire to feed her, she looks lovely. P

Beyonce is my girl, but sometimes she's just shy of a skank. A size up would put taste back into that gown.

I part company with y'all on Drew's hair, over teased, over sprayed, over done. Angie would never flex her roots like that either.

Oh, Selma, why must you. Reel those bad boys in. You and Beyonce need to go to the same charm class on the power of understatement.

I think Anne Hathaway and Rumer Willis should have switched dresses. That raspberry would have been lovely on Anne.

Amanda should have paid closer attention to her tan lines on the exposes shoulder. I thought the style was lovely, but even in a pale pink would have been nicer.

Cameron was a hot mess, but Kate and Drew were faboo.

Dani, I'm really not trying to argue with you, and after this I'm done because I don't want to hijack the thread or anything. There is a difference between starving yourself or making yourself vomit up everything you eat and actually learning about nutrition and exercise and trying to improve your body. Yes, even if you're a natrual size 10, you can healthily slim down to a 4! Not all weight loss is bad, whether you're a size 8 or 18.

That's what you fail to acknowledge. Anne Hathaway looked thin and lost some weight, so she must be unhealthy, right? No, not necessarily. You can usually tell who is abusing their bodies by the quality of their skin, hair, etc. And, when there are far more overweight people in America with healthy problems than underweight people with health problems, I don't see how your 'side' is really claiming any sort of health supreriority.

If your point is that too many succumb to societal pressures and that's wrong, blah blah blah, fine, I get that. However I'm still wondering why people can't be vain and work on their bodies if they want. This doesn't make them sick or unhealthy. Aight, I'm done. Over and out.

I agree; Miley Cyrus did not dress age appropriate. I find that a worse offense (when a young girl dresses too mature) then when a middle aged woman dresses too young!

First, let me just say I LUV cheezeburgers. Luv em, Luv em, Gotta Get Me Sum.

Second, I just luv me some TLO in the morning. Didn't watch the Globes but I'm luving the rehash on the dresses.

And, I hate to say it, but I luv 'em cause I agree with them.

When I saw the January Jones dress, I thought "Where's the belt? It needs the belt!"

And when I saw Drew's hair, I thought, "OMG! CFM Angie Dickinson Hair."

When I saw the Demi dress, I said, "Damn Demi looks good, but I am damn glad she wore some underthings."

And with Beyonce, I thought "Gurl, your curves are rockin, but Damn, that dress is too small for you, everything is rollin out and NOT like Selma .."

As for Selma and her co-stars, they spice up anything she puts herself into ...

Special luvin to TLO for doing all the detective work and posting the runway with the red carpet. Always love to see it on one and then the other.

And I love the commentators too ... to a point.

But to all yall ANONYMOUS commentators, get you a tag line AND a cheezburger.

More than happy to have yall pull up a chair to the morning kaffe clutch and gab with all us gurls, but geez stop with the Trolling.

I luv a good debate with my morning cappucino, but I would like to have at least a name to go with the diatribe.

You can still be ANONYMOUS all you want, just come out from under the bridge, tell me who I am talking too and we can debate skinniness until the cows come home so I can have me another damn cheezburger.

Just sayin-

You guys are, mostly, dead on! (Saw Hathaway on Leno, and she was super skinny there, too.) Agreed with lots of what you said. I loved Drew's dress, but disagree about the hair - that was HAIR! (Yikes!) I'm surprised you didn't comment on Rumer Willis's belt - that was unnecessarily busy. I liked Kate Winslet's hair and makeup, but thought the puckering on the bodice was weird. And Tina Fey *could* wear lipstick and do her hair AND still be the talented, smart comedienne. :)

DANI,
I agree with you but your choice of words (Cameron Manheim shouldn't be "lampooned") was terrible.

Welcome to the eating disorder thread! Guess what, you can be "too thin" and "too fat." Guess which end of the spectrum most of Hollywood falls on?

Of course, we don't want them to be "natural", that looks bad on camera (and I mean this unironically). However, Anne looks bad. Her bones are way too prominent, her head appears too large and her neck downright gawky. She's gorgeous, and I love the dress, but a little weight in this instance would have improved her overall appearance.

I agree that health and not weight should be the appropriate barometer. At some point, however, if you can't see who is "too thin," (or "too fat" for that matter) you may have a genuine body image issue. Think about it. Get help if you need it. On the whole the nation is obese, but that isn't cured by having the anorexia/bullimia brigade serve as our role models.

Peace to you all.

I find that a worse offense (when a young girl dresses too mature) then when a middle aged woman dresses too young!

But a middle aged woman SHOULD know better - not that she always does, mind you. I'm just saying that teenage girls have never been celebrated for their wisdom, so I guess I'm willing to cut them a little more slack. Although, really, they're parents should know better, too. I can't decide. Both are equally offensive.

"It's like Angie Dickinson rolling out of a Miami Beach hotel just after a romp with JFK."

My first thought was Ann-Margaret in her sex kitten look, but yeah, Angie Dickinson is much better. PPS and Miss Jaye were really harsh about it, but I loved it.

Regard Cameron Diaz, I could not stop staring at the chicken cutlet peeking out of the left bodice of her dress. Bad look all around.

I am really tired of Beyonce. Yeah the girl has curves, but she always looks. the. same. Boring!

Selma Hayak's dress immediately reminded me of The Minoan Princesses.

P.S. Miley looked just fine. The dress was a tad old for her, but it was white and lovely and she wasn't skanky.

You want to talk age appropriate?

I saw a 6-YEAR OLD girl, at the MALL, with HER MOTHER, wearing cowboy boots, Daisy Duke short-shorts, a Midriff pink t-shirt with a sequin heart on it, and her hair pulled up, looking like a 35-year old roadhouse @$#$*#&$*&*###.

Geez, now that is AGE inappropriate ... and I bet that little girl just loves her Miley Cyrus ... and the Marchesa dress would be a definite step up for that trashy little six year old to aspire too.

P.S. Not hatin on the sweet six year old, but I was SOOOOOOOOOOOO SPITTING DAGGERS with my EYES at the MOTHER who dressed her little girl that way. Soooooooo BAD MOMMY, but sooooooo not it a GOOD WAY.

Which is part of the reason why BODY IMAGE is a real issue because of the media and society, the way it is today.

Just call me an old fart.

Just sayin-

ok guys I mostly agree with you one this time...Beyonce, Ms Moss, Anne, but Miley Cyrus is frightful, oh oops I wasn't talking about the dress. The dress is too mature. Otherwise, yes Drew is fabulous and I do love you boys for the Angie reference! Also I think cutting a comedienne is kinda lame...she's not known for her glamourous style, and she looks decent.

I think middle-aged women who wear too-youthful clothes are worse than teenage girls who wear matronly clothes. I agree with Mary's reasoning, that older women should know better, but I also think that there are FAR more older women trying to look 16 than there are teenage girls experimenting with old lady clothes. The scale of the problem is almost entirely tipped to one side.

Eva Mendez - the necklace!!! It's fabulous. Drew's total look was so pretty and new for her. I love Rumur Willis' dress but it's way too old for her. And I didn't like the straps on her mom's dress yesterday. And that is wahat I think about that. Overall, the Golden Globes showed more flair and less bare. I like this event to be a little less formal. It's cool to see more kicky stuff.

I think Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried look GORGEOUS! I hate Tina Fey's dress. And that's Cavalli? I'm surprised.

Thank you for the post, Tlo :)

The reason Beyonce wears dresses that small is because all celebrities on the red carpet wear the runway samples. These dresses are size 2. And we all know Beyonce is NOT a size 2.

Celebrities will not purchase a red carpet gown. Sometimes if it is important enough for a designer they will make you a custom gown.

But God forbid Beyonce should use some of her millions to purchase an Elie Saab gown in a size 6!!

The pictures of the dresses on the runway in TLo's posts are the actual dresses these celebrities have on in their photos!!

This is another reason actresses stay so thin. They all want to wear the free clothes.

Sometimes it works: Eva Mendes, Eva Longoria. And sometimes it doesn't: Beyonce, JLo!!!

LOL Anon 1:15. I'll work on the vocab. Ridiculed? That better?

I'm glad to see all the love for Drew! I agree that her hair was just a tad too disheveled, but overall, I think she looked great!

Felt kind of bad for Rumer Willis. It was sort of like Freaky Friday. Mom looked like the daughter and the daughter looked like the mom.

Drew Barrymore? Hooray! LOVED it. But then I'm a big sucker for teased, back-combed 60's hair.

Winslet looked like a star. Titshelf perhaps, but that rack of hers can't be easy to reign in.

Love me some Peggy Olsen but I would think that after 2 seasons of parading the wide forehead in Mad Men's early 60's hairdos that Ms. Moss would want to cover it and give her strongly featured face a bit of balance.

Tina Fey looked like Mrs. Rambo with the bullet bandolier circling her arms.

Eva Mendes looked like she got up from the table too fast and took the tablecloth with her. All she needed was some plates and silverware cascading down the skirtline.

Everyone in the strapless numbers needs to hoist the dress up, put on the boob tape and then spend the rest of the night pretending they have a book balanced on their head. Too much slouching and too many "grab and hoists" going on. They walked around like Junior Prom girls wearing grown-up clothes for the first time.

honesty.not.pc

Hey there everyone!

I am going to a formal event this weekend and I am looking for some new shoes.

My dilema is between a black shoe, silver shoe, or a pop of color shoe.

My dress is similar to Kate Winslets, does anyone have a photo that shoes her shoes?

Thanks!!!

P.S. I think the total fashion loser of the evening was Cameron Diaz (well her and Maggie). That color is aweful, and it does horrible things to her figure.

honesty.not.pc

that is supposed to read "shows her shoes"

Tina Fey was giving off a distinct "I don't care about pleasing the fashion police because I have a brain" vibe, which I would do too if I were stuck in a room full of the beautiful, the botoxed, the Heidi Klums. So she stuck on a gown, and showed up to win awards for an awesome show she wrote herself.

Lol. Considering the fact that everyone and their mom calls them "pop of color shoes" and "pop of color bags," I think it's fairly safe to say that the trend of having a "pop of color" is dead and buried in the Fashion Bug wasteland. Subtle coordinates are in, peeps.

Hey Boys - what? No photos and discussion/disection of Mickey Rourke???

*So honesty.not.pc, I'd say go with the black or the silver shoes. (Sorry, I accidentally hit submit too early.)

Disappointed with Tina, she has looked so much better on recent cover shoots like VF. Made up for it with her hilarious acceptance suck it acceptance speech, aka Kathy Griffin.

Anne Hathaway used to be rounder which I think is a more natural and becoming weight. This picture reflects Anne's stressed-out,my former boyfriend is a criminal weight. Anyway, thought she looked too severe in that dress.
Loved Eva Mendez,especially that necklace.
Drew looked so happy with herself with that fabulous dress and loopy hair that I can forgive her the little extra teasing.

i love drew & her whole look. she reminded me of marilyn, but now i see its more angie! LOL love you boys.
xo

Spot on as usual.

I also thought Cameron Diaz looked like she had slept in the dress. Taking a little nap in the limo? The dress still looks tired.

I too think Drew Barrymore looks terrific. Love the dress, her hair, everything.

Now, I'm off to eat a cheeseburger!

I turned on the Gloden Globes just as Eva Mendez was present and was MESMORIZED by that necklace. Were those Peruvian opals, does anyone know?? The necklace had the power to make me forgive the growth on her dress. Maybe it was just the HD and all of that spahhhklyness...

"Tlo said: MEGA-dull. And those straps make her boobs look small. And maybe she should try a little harder in the hair and makeup department if she's going to wear such an understated dress."

Aw, give poor Tina a break. She only PLAYS Sarah Palin: She doesn't have her exhorbitant wardrobe budget.

But I think the big winner in this bunch is Drew. I don't think she looks crazy at all. I think she looks fabulous! And I adore the hair - and as wild as that hairstyle is, she is wearing the hair, rather than the hair wearing her.

--GothamTomato

I don't think it's Anne Hathaway's weight that's the issue: It's her very pale complexion. There's sun-avoiding, wrinkle-retarding pale, and then there's vampiric, and I think she veers into the latter. Fixable, of course, with the right face and body makeup.

And the Tits on Parade gals (Beyonce and Salma) -- what is the thinking there? It's impossible to look at them without looking at THEM.

Elisabeth Moss has a delightful quirky beauty, but she needs to think about bangs.

bitchybitchybitchy

With Salma's best co-stars, the gown is definitely not boring..

Drew Barrymore looked fab...and TLo, your comment about Angie Dickinson and JFK is priceless!
MMMMWWWAHHH!

I was afraid Tina Fey's boobs were going to slide right out of that dress.

Overall I thought the dresses were an improvement over the past few years.

drew wins!!!

La Aterciopeleda, I think that the blue stones are turquoise and the spahhhklies diamonds. Not positive, though.

"I find that a worse offense (when a young girl dresses too mature) then when a middle aged woman dresses too young!"

But isn't that the premise of Benjamin Button?

--GothamTomato

"We'd say the dress is a little dull but with those two puppies filling it, that's not possible."

Salma's massive breasts wrapped up tightly in that white dress look engorged, heavy and painful. Almost like ace bandages wrapping up a huge boob job gone very wrong. Maybe she's breastfeeding a newborn? I can't imagine why any woman not in the porno industry would buy such huge ugly things and haul those heavy things around daily. It looks cheap and ridiculous. She was much prettier before this joke.

"Gorgeous Things said: Regard Cameron Diaz, I could not stop staring at the chicken cutlet peeking out of the left bodice of her dress. Bad look all around."

Yes. It is so obvious that a cheesburger would have made a better statement.

"No wonder this country is obese."

I thought it was just big-boned.

RE: Salma, at the risk of sounding naive, I thought they were natural. LOL!!!!

"It is so annoying to hear that every young actress without Grandma bingo arms needs to "eat a cheeseburger" I'm going to skip lunch and hit the gym, now. She takes the cake, processed 'Cheeze' products. beanpole, run to the corner market. The dress is ugly, titshelf. Calm down and go have a cupcake. No wonder this country is obese. everyone over a size 3 deserves death (and not "By Chocolate" go eat a cheeseburger and gain some weight. Try and read that through and digest what I actually said before you add more comments, please. But thanks for like, not actually reading or understanding anything. cheeseburger. Luv em, Luv em, Gotta Get Me Sum. get you a tag line AND a cheezburger. tell me who I am talking too and we can debate skinniness until the cows come home so I can have me another damn cheezburger."

Whoa, this is like being back in college when all the girls' menstrual cycles sync up.

For some reason I'm craving a cheeseburger. And I'm a vegetarian.

--GothamBaconLettuce&Tomato

Having been there, it is extremely difficult to find anything to wear and not look like a porn star if you are brestfeeding, specially if you have a small frame, so I give Salma a pass this time...

I think Anne Hathaway looks fine. My first thought was that she was going for that pale severe look, ala John Singer Sargent's Madame X.

Drew's gown is my favorite of all of them. I like the color and the design. And the jewelry. The hair also reminded me of sex kitten Anne Margaret. Messy but playful. She certainly looks relaxed and confident in this look which makes her glow even more.

Sorry - that dress is just way too old for Miley Cyrus. She's like 16 -- that dress - if it had straps, would be seen in the likes of Kitty Carlisle on To Tell The Truth.

Anne Hathaway-pretty dress, thought she looked good, but fit in bodice could have been better (it looked like it needed to be yanked up due to lack of boobage to keep it up)

Amanda Seyfried-everything nice but agree, totally washed her out

Beyonce-just like JLo and Eva Longoria Parker, same old, same old

Eva Mendes-actually one of my favorites! I really liked the dress (coffee filter too! lol) and the necklace was a nice touch

Cameron Diaz-pretty dress worn badly. It looked like she pulled the dress off the floor where it had laid crumpled and left the house without doing her hair or anything else.

Drew Barrymoore-I loved the dress, still thought her hair was crazy... and not in a good way.

Kate Winslet-pretty boring for her. She looked good but... boring. Also not a fan of the bleachy hair.

Miley Cyrus-thought it looked good on her, and not too mature or age inappropriate.

Rumer Willis-bad hair, pretty dress but again, needed it yanked up a little higher. What's with these gals wearing dresses that look like they will fall down? If you don't have the chest to hold something strapless up, don't wear it.

Tina Fey-bodice was not flattering on her. Hair looked messy and not in a good way.

Elizabeth Moss-cute dress but just a little too bright. Toned down a bit or darker and it would have been perfect.

Salma Hyek-looked great but yeah... WAY too much boobage. Slightly less and it would have been perfect but that much? scary.

To the people complaining about the "too skinny" complaints, take a good look at the models and the stars people are making those comments about. YES, it is fine to be skinny (and I say that with all 105pounds of myself), but NO, if you look like a skeleton and your bones are visibly poking out of your dress that's not okay. That's not healthy. There's a big difference between being skinny and looking emaciated.

oh Kate Winslet, you are so beautiful and can wear the best couture gowns that I can only dream of. So why are you wearing a Jessica McClintock gown that you got at the mall?

I thought Drew Barrymore looked awesome, crazy lady hair and all. (Just a little less hairspray? Lay off the teasing just a little bit?) Although give her a vodka tonic and a cigarette and I feel like the look starts to make more sense...

Why was Rumer Willis even there? And why did she feel like that otherwise nice dress needed the addition of a tacky belt? Why can she not style her hair properly to accommodate her giant forehead?

Anne Hathaway, I am mailing you this gift of a pizza. Please eat it and get back to me.

Teddy G, I COMPLETELY disagree with you here. Not all weight loss is bad, but there are many people who should never be able to fit into sizes that tiny, especially women with larger frames.

Being thin is not an indicator of health, nor is being overweight an automatic indicator of poor health.

ANYWAY
I didn't know about most designers making samples in only size 2s-although I guess they are more designed for runway models than the actresses/rich people who buy them? Why not make them at a 6 or (god forbid) an 8--much easier to take a gown in than let it out. I guess that adds more to the pressures to stay very thin.

Is Elisabeth Moss wearing her dad's watch as an accessory??

I like her, but sorry, the entire look is too party dress and not right for an awards night. She doesn't appear to understand what to wear from head to toe. She needs a gay, and pronto!!

See? This is hilarious! Absolutely none of the stars people have been criticizing as "too skinny" have bones sticking out of their dresses. What are you talking about? Examples please (and I'm not talking about the models. I think pretty much everyone agreed that they were overall too skinny.)
Anne Hathaway was the only name mentioned. Does she have bones sticking out? Um, no. Ok then, great point Anon!

I love Anne Hathaway. I think she looks gorgeous! Fab post, Tlo!

Drew Barrymore took it home. I've never seen her look so good in Dior. That hair was incredibly sexy.

Just tuning in to all the skinny talk, but Anne's always skinny. She's Anne Hathaway. She's is a stunning beauty. She has trainers and her body is gorgeous. It's Hollywood.

Anne Hathaway in Armani Privé Fall 2006 Couture.

Is this even the same dress that the model is wearing? I do not think so!!!

TampaBay

Project Rungay, you're so totally off with your comments today. Did you drink a bad cup of coffee this morning? Loved most of the looks you disliked and hated the Cyrus dress you praised. Who's curtains is she wearing? Oh well, you can't be on the ball all the time.

Hi Sewing Siren,

You're right. She's wearing a Van Cleef & Arpels turquoise and diamond necklace.

I'm sorry but with all the images I've seen of Rumer over the years, ANYTHING is going to make her look better. I frankly thought the color on her was great, and the hair was very feminine and a nice change for her. She actually managed to look sexy, and finally like her mom!

Wait, you guys are done?! What about Isla Fisher and Elizabeth Banks? (and probably a few others, but these two I liked)

I don't know if it's the makeup, or if she's too thin, or what, but Anne Hathaway does NOT look beautiful anymore. There's something stark and kind of creepy about her look. If you look at slightly older photos of her, she looks much healthier to me - her face is fuller and her skin seems rosier. Her eyes now look huge for her face, the way people look when they've been very, very ill. I know lots of people think she's fab, but I liked her better when she didn't look drawn and ill.

incidentally, there are people who are overweight with eating disorders. not every disorder is anorexia or bulimia.

Anne Hathaway - She is such a goddess, but she is starting to look like her druggie older sister.

Amanda Seyfried - Perfection.

Beyoncé - She looks like a Madame Tussauds version of Beyonce.

Elisabeth Moss - I love the dress; for some reason, I prefer Peggy's mousy ponytail and bangs look.

Eva Mendes - I am digging the glamor. I really like the design of the necklace, but I think it would work better with another stone.

Cameron Diaz - this look should have stayed on the runway. She looks Ellen Barkinesque, which is neither good nor bad. I like the close up of her smiling.

Drew Barrymore - I would love this look a lot more if she did not have dark roots, but still awesome overall.

Kate Winslet - Be still my heart, she has temporarily replaced Cate Blanchett as my fashion goddess.

Miley Cyrus - Her hair and makeup are spot on and age appropriate, the dress doesn't measure up.

Salma Hayek - she can do no wrong in my book.

Rumer Willis - Thumbs Up.

Tina Fey - More in than out, I like her sly expression.

Elisabeth Moss' dress falls a little too low on her calf to be really flattering (and I do agree about the color).

Anne Hathaway's dress was EXCELLENT. Love that color. Didn't see too much of a problem with the fit other than it made her torso look stiff and long. Maybe that's what you guys were talking about.

Eva Mendes either needs to stuff her bosoms or pin that little excess fabric down, because DAMN is that dress poorly fitted.

Your comment about Drew Barrymore was hysterical and totally hit the mark. She's getting slammed for this on some other websites, but I think she looked great.

I couldn't agree more about Beyonce, I'm not a big fan anyway. She's too Vegas showgirl and glittery for me.

Love, love, love Project Rungay

Okay, I've been thinking about this throughout the day.

AnonCindy - I get your point. You are basically saying that thin women get criticized for their weight too and that's not fair. True. Good point. Everyone thinks that just because they are skinny , it's okay to take a shot and offer a burger. You're right, and I didn't get this point upon first reading your posts. However, I think you're a little overzealous about taking my comments as "well, then, EVERYONE should be obese." There is a middle ground. Also, maybe turn down the mean a little?

Teddy - I agree with your points. As someone who experienced an extreme weight loss once myself, I completely agree that not all weight loss is bad. I do disagree that anyone can slim down to a 4... I had to have extreme discipline to do what I did, and I will still never be that small. So, it's a little unrealistic to think that everyone can do that. Also, I'm not really sure what "side" you think I'm on. If you think I'm pro-obesity, I am not. I eat very healthily and work out almost every day. My point, I suppose, is realistic expectations.

Agnes Goch - You are RIGHT. She's quite the ghost, isn't she? I adore Anne Hathaway, but this was not her night.

And FINALLY. Gotham Tomato - I love you. You are fabulous. Best comment I've heard all day. Sorry I regressed to the junior high locker room there for a bit... sometimes one is bored at work. One might spend too much time on a message board, perhaps, hmm? ;)

And Drew's hair! LOVE! Get me a fine tooth comb, dammit!

I actually think most of them look great. Salma Hayek is a beautiful woman. I love her, love her boobs. I don't like the color of the dress, but I think she looks great.

Hey, at least Beyonce is not wearing some crap her mother put together with a hot glue gun and some sequins.

It's late in the day and I have had a cheeseburger, and I have calmed down a bit.

And yes, I can spell it correctly, but don't we have any LOLCAT fans around here?

And, for the record, I also luv me some Gotham "Bacon & Lettuce" Tomato.

You always make me laugh. Next week, I'll start eating salads again and I'll treat you to a big leafy bowl of greens somewhere.

Just sayin-

Rumer Willis is f*cking hideous! With all her dough, and her mother's propensity for plastic surgery, you would think they would do something with her looks. No amount of glamorous hair or make-up or designer dress could fix her!

Anne Hathaway's dress was so close to being lovely, but you're right, the fit is off. Close, no cigar.

Drew Barrymore looks smashing. Love the dress. I think Amanda looks pretty much perfect as well. I hear what you are saying about the washed-out-ed-ness, but I think the color works on her here. I think the muted color and the simplicity of the design really let Amanda's beauty shine through. Total win.

I have never admired Cameron Diaz's fashion sense (actually, I've seen little evidence that she has any) and this dress just confirms what I already knew: in addition to not being able to act, girlfriend can't dress herself. Sorry, can't stick that woman at any price.

Who else. Oh. Selma. The perfect accessories for every outfit. Who's looking at the dress?

Miley looks cute.

Rumer's dress is nice, and I like the color, but she should have kept the belt.

Hey, also, what's up with the Marchesa model's hair? She looks like she stuck her finger in a light socket, with the facial expression to match!

Sorry, I meant that I liked Rumer's dress better without the belt. Guess I was so distracted by all the cheeseburgers flying around in here that I forgot what I wanted to say.

Cheeseburger cheeseburger cheeseburger! Pepsi, no Coke!

Oh, and guys? Those people don't look like that. These newfangled cameras actually subtract 10 pounds instead of adding them. They also take several years off. All those women are quite pleasingly plump IRL, and Miley Cyrus is actually 25.

"Salma Hayek and her two costars". Love it, love all three of them.

Kate Winslet is making me cry. She needs to gain 5 or 10 pounds and get those lovely curves back. She's much prettier when she's not so skinny!

Salma's boobs are going to take over the world.

TLo, are you boys going to do any more posts on our new first ladies dress ?

Drew's is my favorite because she just owns it and oozes her bubbly personality. Love her.

PS Make mine a veggie burger.

Whatever happened to PRfanalaPenn ? She used to post constantly.

Selma Hayak's dress immediately reminded me of The Minoan Princesses.

Lower the neckline on her dress 1/16" , give her a rubber snake in each hand, and you would have an exact match.

I didn't mean to sound like I was saying anyone could slim down to a size 4. Everyone's body is different. My point was that, at any weight (maybe not like, 100 pounds) it's possible to lose weight or dress sizes healthily. (Conflating weight and dress size is probably a mistake though - if you're built with a really wide frame, no matter how much weight you drop, you'll never fit into a 0 or 2.)

The size 10 to 4 thing was just an example I gave off of some I know. (And please do not say she did it unhealthily, because I know she did not.) Yeah, it takes some work, and yeah, if you stop eating right and working out you will go back to your body's "natural" weight...but if one chooses to put forth the effort to have a better body, what should anyone else care about it? Obviously everything in moderation. No one's saying you should get down to a size 2 at any cost. Just don't knock on people for losing weight when you don't know how they did it or what the circumstances were. If a thin-but-flabby girl starts taking care of herself, tones up, and loses 15 pounds, giving her a leaner appearance, does she need to "eat a cheeseburger" because she started out skinny? (FYI you can be narrow AND fat at the same time.)

(I think the poster Laura, who is "about to cry" because Kate Winslet is too skinny pretty much sums up everything I was talking about. Lame, lame, lame.)

Dad and Daddy,
Thanks for the winter treats!!!

Applying something previously learned to a current situation is a hallmark of a good liberal arts education, your classics / history / philosophy / literature teachers would be so proud! ;-)

I don't have a problem with all of the cleavage being shown. The truth is, when you have a large chest, I'm sorry, clothing is going to look different on you than on someone with a smaller chest. Yes, it's very easy to slide into Hoochieville, but there's a huge difference between the cleavage being shown by Beyonce and Salma in their respective dresses. It's clear that Salma's dress is actually the right size for her body and Beyonce's is a couple of sizes too small. Beyonce: two thumbs down. Salma: two thumbs up.

Oh geez, Teddy G. I think Kate Winslet's facial features look better with a little roundness and fullness to them. She went from looking like a Botticelli painting to a much more generic sort of pretty when she lost the weight. I don't think she looks unhealthy, or even bad. I think her good looks are much less unique now, and I think it's sad when anything unique becomes generic looking.

There are no implications in that opinion beyond me thinking that this one particular person looks better with a few extra pounds, and the "making me cry" thing was, of course, a complete internet exaggeration. But if proving people are lame by over-analyzing their blog comments is what gets you through your day...

Laura, you are so right! Kate Winslet always looks beautiful, but she used to be the epitome of the curvy, womanly figure and now she's lost that shape. Whatever makes her happy though, right?

Hey, no appology needed IMO. I thought the whole exchange was funny.

In fact, I'd love to see this thread done as a dramatic reading (ala The Vagina Monologues), with all the actresses playing against type.

--GothamTomato

I think I remember reading that Drew's dress was custom made for her. she looked fantastic. Definitely best dressed imo.

I don't LOVE the hair, but I don't hate it, and given the risk, I appreciate it. Just makes me like her more.

"America's Sweetheart" did not shine. Tina should always wear her glasses because without them she has a lazy eye. The glasses keep her from looking off and slightly crazed.

I like turquoise but it works better in more casual jewelry, IMO, so I'm not crazy about Eva's necklace. I would have preferred it with some other stone.

Drew - Insane Clown Posse! She did look kind of fab but insane at the same time. Was she stoned out of her mind?

Amanda Seyfrid - Stunning. The color was blah but she's so gorgeous that it was okay.

Salma - That cleavage is scary. She could have covered up just a teensy bit more and still looked sexy as hell without looking like a milk cow.

Kate - love everything about her - except this dress! I know she's getting lots of love for her look but I thought it was pretty boring.

Rumer - I actually liked that dress a lot. The color was unique. But she should have left the belt at home. And yes, can you imagine what hell her life must be to have Demi as her mom while she looks like her dad? I'll cut her a lot of slack for this.

Ann - I like the reference to the Sargent Madame X portrait. It is reminiscent of that. But she didn't look great. She did look very severe and not in a good way. But I generally find her a bit meh so maybe it's just me.

Miley - She almost always looks like a mall rat (but then so do most 15 year olds) but I think she looks pretty good here. The dress is appropriate and flattering.

Cameron Diaz dress would have looked better if she would have left that one capped sleeve. Ugh miley Cyrus annoys me please banher from this site. Drews hair...HOT FIERY MESS! Beyonce is starting to look HOE-ish or should I say more HOE-ish than usual!

I wasn't sure about Drew's hair but it did compliment her gorgeous dress. Overall, she looked fabulous.

God, the boobies are everywhere these days. I felt like I was watching Les Liaisons Dangereuses.

My favorite bit: "We don't care if she looks a little crazy, we LOVE the hair. It's like Angie Dickinson rolling out of a Miami Beach hotel just after a romp with JFK."

Yes, that is EXACTLY what it looks like, TLo! And I'm so glad there's somebody still around who knows what any of that MEANS!

You guys are the oysters in my Rockefeller.

I second what Julie The Vintage Goddess says!:

Should everyone look like Camryn Manheim? Would that finally please all of you?

Yes....yes it would.

I was surprised, but yeah I actually liked Miley's dress. Loved Hathaway and Barrymore too. Even though Drew totally seemed like she'd had a few when she went up to present, hah.

YES: Drew Barrymore is the fun crazy that has you dancing on a table at Denny's while you sing along to a Musak version of "I Touch Myself" at 3am on a Tuesday. Fun Crazy.

And, then there is Renee Zellweger. The kind of crazy that runs up to you unintroduced, grabs your elbow veeeeery tightly, and whispers in a panicked tone, "You are my true soul twin. We need to reaaaaaaally talk. Now. I SAID NOW!"

The cheeseburger wars are cracking me up. I think the real debate must be Hathaway-specific. Note that there were no objections to the recent TLo Page 2 posts wishing a bit of weight gain for Rachael Zoe and Posh (not the panty photoshop post, an older one from some gallery opening or some such)Beckham.

I totally get that most models and many actresses are freakishly underweight...I just don't see that Anne Hathaway can be fairly said to be among their ranks at this point. And, as a naturally small framed skinny broad, I can attest that there is usually some reason for sensitivity to "Eat a Sandwich!" overload. I have been literally eating a cheeseburger and had a total stranger call me a bitch for being able to do so and still be small. It is entirely PC to dog on someone for being thin. Which, as you can imagine, gets old.

The moral of the story? Embrace your natural healthy figure, and, in the spirit of TLo....DRESS ACCORDINGLY. Audrey Hepburn: Teeny. Dressed appropriately for such. Queen Latifah: Bodacious. Also (usually) dresses to celebrate this fact. The same dresses do NOT look good on large and small women. In my dream world, there are dresses for all our fantastic shapes.

Sadly, Beyonce seems to hate my dream world. STOP trying to dress like you are a 98 pound waif! It's a crime to wrap that gorgeous curvy bod in the wrong clothes.

I think Tina Fey looks good...I agree about the straps, but I have to say that I think 'dull' or understated was what she was going for, it fit with her personality that night- very humble and quiet.

Yes, for 15 Miley does have too much cleavage!

Dahlings - as a fabulous plus-sized woman, I am appalled at the gauntness of most fashion models. And many actresses. Up close and personal, their fleshless arms alone can cause alarm that one can barely conceal.

America Ferrera was far more beautiful when she was larger, in my unhumble opinion.
