Here she is at the Avakian Beverly Hills Boutique Celebration in Beverly Hills, California in a Black Halo Ruffle Sleeve Dress.

Love it. The color looks great on her and it fits and flatters her. The hair and makeup are good but the shoes are awful. IN.

And here she is attending the Damages Season 2 Premiere at DGA Theater in New York City in a Black Halo Pleat-Top Dress.

It also looks great on her but the color of the dress is too close to the color of her hair and her her makeup looks way harsh. Still, it's a great dress. IN.

I'm not crazy about the necklace, and I wish she would wear her hari down more often, but those are minor complaints. Overall, I'd say she's IN.
12/19/08 11:50 AM
Both of those are cute as hell, especially the first one, altho the necklace is a little chintzy looking.
12/19/08 11:55 AM
I LOVE LOVE that second look. She looks gorgeous!
12/19/08 12:00 PM
Sorry guys but I think she looks much better in brown than in blue.
The second look is fabulous on her.
Both dresses are pretty and the fit is great. Hate the first shoes as well as the necklace she wears with the blue dress.
12/19/08 12:00 PM
I agree, the dresses are good choices.
12/19/08 12:10 PM
I think she looks fabulous. I could nitpick a little and say that I wish the blue was a little deeper and the makeup on the second was way harsh, but overall I think she looks fantastic. Even more then that, I think she is starting to look as gorgeous and fashion foward as she used to.
12/19/08 12:13 PM
Is this woman genetically predisposed to not looking good?
Even here, where she's actually wearing decent dresses for once...something is still off, and I can't quite put my finger on it. Don't get me wrong, she's a beautiful woman but...I don't know.
She's looking like quite the plastic-surgeried rabid clown in the last thumbnail though.
12/19/08 12:20 PM
Thank you, TLo, for pointing out that the woman in the brown/black dress was Debra Messing. She looks like an entirely different person there.
12/19/08 12:56 PM
I love the blue dress. Her makeup in the second set of photos looks incredibly aging. But she looks great in the first set of photos.
12/19/08 12:56 PM
Both dresses look pretty good on her, but what in the hell did she do to her face?! Rabid clown is right.
12/19/08 1:03 PM
Debra looks very similar to Ingrid Bergman.
12/19/08 1:12 PM
She's looking good! Although I have to say that I don't care for such heavy eye makeup.
12/19/08 1:17 PM
I love the first dress, but I miss her curls! She doesn't look the same with straight hair.
12/19/08 1:23 PM
Big huge IN on the second look. She needs to go in that direction more often.
12/19/08 1:28 PM
She looks great-- better than she has in a long time.
Did she hire you two???
12/19/08 1:41 PM
If I saw that last pic of her out of context, I would not known who it was. That purple dress looked better on the model.
But overall yes she's IN.
12/19/08 1:42 PM
Periwinkle dress, love it, shoes dreadful, like the bag, like the hair.
The second number, all taken into account (dress, hair, shoes, bag), is a great look.
I like the jewelry with both pieces.
Debra is in.
12/19/08 1:43 PM
Thanks TLO
Bailey - HILARIOUS Again!
She's looking like quite the plastic-surgeried rabid clown in the last thumbnail though
12/19/08 1:43 PM
The Mess(ing)is back! In a good way!
Both dresses look fantastic on her-- extremely well fit & very flattering. The makeup for the 2nd look is a bit harsh, but I get the impression it's an attempt to offset the girlishness of the dress.
That blue dress is TO. DIE!
12/19/08 1:53 PM
I will marry Debra Messing today. She can make any piece of fabric look good.

IN for both the first is my favorite. This is one of the first times I have seen Debra not overdone or in something ill fitting. She looks sexy and chic in both looks!
12/19/08 3:16 PM
Wha? That blue dress is terrible...it made her boobs disappear.
12/19/08 3:26 PM
I love both of these looks. The first is a classic Debra Messing look, the second is kind of the anti-Grace Adler, and it looks great (if only she'd wipe a *bit* of makeup off her cheeks).
12/19/08 3:33 PM
The first dress is too tight through the hips. If you edit out that first photo, the top looks great on her. But when you see the entire dress, the dread horizontal folds are there and they don't flatter. She's got a great figure, but too tight skirts are not her friend. (They aren't anybody's friend.)
Second outfit...was in CA, right? so it is climate appropriate. But my moniter doesn't show the top well colored. Some of the jewel toned greens we've seen lately would have been a better color up top.
12/19/08 4:03 PM
Toomanycats said, too tight skirts are not her friend. (They aren't anybody's friend.)
They're Joan Holloway's friend!
12/19/08 4:04 PM
IN. IN.
Caveat: Makeup is way too harsh. Less is more.
And - my pet peeve. ENOUGH WITH THE FLAT IRON. Oy. It is not flattering.
12/19/08 4:06 PM
In and In-- both dresses are awesome!
12/19/08 4:40 PM
She looks great in both of these dresses. They're the best looks I've seen on her in a long time.
12/19/08 6:06 PM
That's the same women in both those dresses? Wow.
I have to disagree about the color of the blue, I don't think it flatters her skintone, it just competes with her red hair for attention.
The brown? Hmm. "Slutty, slutty, slutty..."
12/19/08 6:25 PM
She looks SO much better than she usually does!
12/19/08 7:12 PM
LOVE.
I've wanted the first dress forever.
I love Black Halo.
12/19/08 7:38 PM
I think the first dress is flattering, but that color looks very washed out on her. It would've been better in a darker color.
Love her in the brown dress!
12/19/08 7:43 PM
First dress: Eh. Never a big fan of those fluttery petal kind of sleeves, or the plunging V-neck. BIG FAN, though, of its dreamy fit. Finally, something that shows off her natural curves.
Second dress: To paraphrase you guys, SHE FUCKING BROUGHT IT. Black and brown is such an underrated color combo. Like the slinkiness of the pencil skirt, too, and the straplessness...surprisingly. It's hard to look excellent in a strapless dress, but she pulls it off fabulously.
12/19/08 7:53 PM
I'm checking out the Damages poster in the background...Marcia Gay Harden and Glenn Close on the same show??? Awesome!!!!
12/19/08 8:23 PM
She looks better in these dresses then the models do.
12/19/08 8:34 PM
Blue number - doesn't work for me. Can't really say why. It looks cheap in that lighting.
The other one really works for me (brown/black). Her hair looks great, the outfit is age appropriate - it all works.
12/20/08 12:00 AM
She looks great, although I agree with you guys that the color of the second dress is too close to the color of her hair.
She also looks like she might've started eating solid food, she was looking pretty emaciated there for a while, like she just had ribs where cleavage should be.
12/20/08 1:41 AM
Love both dresses, especially the blue one, but something odd about her face in the second outfit. I agree that she looks like an entirely different person. The straight hair? the makeup?
12/20/08 9:14 AM
The makeup has sort of a dirty look to it. Not sexy dirty, but dirty dirty. Someone went way overboard with the contouring, and it just gives her a muddy appearance.
12/20/08 10:11 AM
I have to say, better than Ms. Messing has looked in a long time.
Love the blue dress, hate the necklace and pom pom shoes.
I do love the black and brown number, but is Ms. Messing trying to channel Idina Menzel (not in a good way) with that makeup and hair?
12/20/08 11:19 AM
In for both dresses. I hate the shoes for that first one, though. Yikes!
12/20/08 12:13 PM
She is looking much better . . .
Wish she would wear more of the colors both models are wearing. With her hair color I think it might work.
12/20/08 2:20 PM
Will agree; IN; blue color great on her and first shoes hideous.
Bailey said that something seems "off" in many of her photos - I agree and I think it is that she rarely looks relaxed, there's almost always a hint of strain as if she's thinking about hitting her mark or holding her chin at the right angle, or getting the posture right. Since a lot of acting is looking more natural and relaxed than one is, in reality, it's odd.
12/20/08 2:45 PM
I think the dresses look great on her and she's so beauitful..
I'm just so personally sick of seeing her I have to say OUT!
12/20/08 4:44 PM
Is eyeliner like crack to her or what????
12/20/08 10:30 PM
Two completely different looks, both definitely IN, except, again, for the shoes in the first one. As for the makeup, for me the problem isn't the color or quantity, it's the mascara application - I'm not a fan of the wide-eyed look, I prefer lashes to be brushed at an angle, creating that cat-eyed effect. I think that would be much more flattering.
12/21/08 12:44 PM
Out. She's always out.
12/21/08 1:08 PM
Hooray! Debra got a clue! She's so beautiful, and it drives me BATTY how misguided she often is, fashion-wise. But these dresses are much, much better than her usual duds. The first one especially looks fabu on her. Good job, Debra!
12/21/08 4:21 PM
FYI--
chickdowntown.com has the purple dress on sale for $172.50!
It's also available in burgundy.
12/22/08 7:51 AM
In the blue dress she looks like she going to the monthly dinner meeting of the Junior League. She looks great but not like a TV star by any means. Like the black/brown dress too but then again it is nothing special.
I miss the old Joan Collins'days when stars really new how to dress for the camera.

Great! I have to say that although I don't always love her choices, I give her props for trying, always, to push it a little. She has a knack for mostly wearing the clothes and not letting them wear her.
Now, if she were only more talented....
12/22/08 3:12 PM
I almost never like her hair, but the blue dress looks great on her. Both the cut and the fit flatter her.
