The Return of the Noodle

Well, after last week's practically noodle-free look (that the judges didn't like), Judy brought them back in a big, big way.

We're of two minds on this one. Lorenzo thinks it's gorgeous and Tom thinks it's good, but problematic.

We can both agree that she did the best job of all the designers in drawing a straight line from inspiration to realization.

There are some real problems with the execution here. We're big fans of the noodles, but not to the point that the rest of the dress looks puckery.

The problem here (at least according to Tom) is that there are just too many noodles. She went a little overboard and the placement on the hips doesn't necessarily make for the most flattering silhouette.

Although we had to laugh at Tim's big ol' queen characterization of it as a Hello Dolly dress. Close, Tim but you're thinking of Funny Girl.

And if we're not crazy about the noodle placement on the front, we're even less crazy about the look from the back. The way the noodles outline her ass like that looks...kind of unsophisticated.

And the stapled-on-at-the-last-minute scrap of blue didn't help.

Don't get us wrong, it's a pretty dress, it's just not the best we've seen from Judy.

Tia looked beautiful in it. :)

"Unsophisticated" Snort!

I would love to see how Miss Noodles would do in a haute couture challenge!!!

I must say that the back pic of that dress does conjure up a Blayne moment of "pooping fabric."

She's tired. They all are.

Look at what happened in S2 when they did the same thing at this point in time.

How can they expect the designers to pull out all the stops & do their best work after 4 or so weeks of little sleep, food, or inspiration.

This is proof that we need more airtime devoted to the actual runway show. I've seen this episode twice, and never noticed the noodles on the back of the dress outlining the model's ass (all I noticed was the blue fabric).

I'm so glad to have TLo's screencaps. I thought this dress deserved the win, but after seeing the stills, I can see the garment's obvious flaws.

yeah, this particular week always produces ass. But how I hate it when a dress is made so that one can never sit down in it. If you're going to make us wear those damned heels, the least you can do is give us a chair now and then.

I agree; pretty, but not great. To me, ruffles and noodles should be joyous and fun. This was one serious, serious dress. The noodles looked prim and stuffy. I think Miss Noodles was tired, and mislaid her sense of humor.

This dress is the beginning of something uber fabulous. Infact, given everything else that walked down the runway, I felt she had it in for the win... well maybe if she had left off the "fabric poo".
By the way - Elisa was the original mastermind of fecal fabric.

Agree with your observations. A bit too many noodles, but still a lovely dress. I would have taken the back up and not used the blue fabric, but of course that's easy for me to say.

My husband has watched a few episodes with me this season, and this one prompted him to ask, "why is everyone so bad?"

I had to explain that this is always the worst episode because they're all so tired and spent. Poor designers. Poor noodles.

Even with the problems, I thought this dress should have won. Noodles ftw!

Mazeway, all you can hope is a gent's arm to lean on.

Sometimes it's hard to be a woman

Loved the corsage-y details, but hated the butt noodles. Judy should have submitted this for the country music challenge!

I agree with the fashion fatigue at this point. There should be a "no ruching" rule during these last challenges. Remember Mychael Knight's cinnabons?

Hard to tell, but did she un-noodle at all after Tim's reaction? Too bad the "stapled-on" blue fabric wasn't in place when Tim saw it or he would have nixed it right away!

This dress reminds me of Mychael Knight's couture dress: there's an idea there, and a lot of potential for super prettiness, but somehow it doesn't quite make it. I suspect that with one more day to think things through -- after a good night's sleep, Leanne might have been able to turn it into the winner.

It says something about this lackadaisical season that I didn't even notice that TLo hadn't completed the reviews for the last show... .

I loved the color. The noodles when wackadoodle and the back is insane but low-intensity enough to not overwhelm the silhouette.

Still, not her best effort. But interesting, at least.

Despite the flawws, I liked the dress.

Obviously, Judy Noodles' creation was inspired by her favorite animated character, Meg, from Disney's Hercules.

Oh, Sus, I guess you posted your comment as I was writing mine. So, yes, you're not the only one who thought of Mychael. It took some digging, but here's the link to the couture challenge rate the runway:

http://www.bravotv.com/Project_Runway/rate/season/3/episode/9/4.php

Meg needs some papardelle.

I think this dress had the most potential out of all four. I wish we could have seen the judges ask Leanne (if they did ask her) how she'd finish it. I just gasped when they did that for Jerell because I'm not sure I've ever seen the judges kinda, sorta give a designer a break like that.

And I still wish that the producers would build in a few days of complete rest for the designers. I don't think the "drama" would suffer one iota, but I do think the quality of design and construction would go up!

You could really tell this last episode. I didn't see determined energized designers approaching the finish line working their hearts out to make it to BP. I saw teary eyed stressed out sleep deprived designers dog paddling their necks above water. It weighed down the viewing experience for me as well. I want to share in their creative energy, not feel sympathy for them.

Agnes, I agree 100%!

I'll say it again, it totally is reminiscent of a marchesa dress minus the blue and execution issues (think anne hathaway oscars, but it still is noodles.

I would have given them a "Spa Day" because it would have been nice to see them let their defenses down and relax and reflect on how the journey has been. It would have made for a nice small segment of the episode, to see them have one day of luxury.

Great color for Tia, and that girl knows how to work a dress, but I agree with the too many noodles assessment. No noodles on the rear, thank you very much! And I think she still could have had the same effect with less noodles in the front as well. Good thing Tia has such small hips!

I didn't understand her reasoning behind using that blue piece, and she should have left it out. If it were incorporated in layers at the skirt, that would have been better.

However, I thought the color was beautiful, the noodles at the top were great, and Tia worked it.

ps: is there a problem with the google / blogger signin toda?

Yep! This dress may have won if she had edited out the blue poop! But, if that had been the case, the producers/judges would have found a reason to seen Jerell packing. We would still be stuck with the screaming mimi for sure.

Bodice puckers aside, I did think the bodice was lovely. This dress had so many possibilities, but the butt noodles and the stapled on dark blue remnant just ruined it.
This coulda been a contendah!!

I would've liked it a lot more without the noodles around her hips. I love the color and the shape of it.

Hutchlover:

Perhaps they hope that by that time they will start hallucinating and tap into their "innerselves."

Next season they should introduce a "special" tea.

"Although we had to laugh at Tim's big ol' queen characterization of it as a Hello Dolly dress. Close, Tim but you're thinking of Funny Girl."

Yes, and as he said it, that sound you heard was millions of queens clutching their pearls.

As for Judy's dress, it was a bit heavy on the carbs, but it moved beautifully on the runway.

But it was a tale of two dresses: The front and the back. I hated that blue thing stuck to the back. It made it look like she sat in something.

Am I the only one that really hates the noodles? Not just in this garment but overall? Aren't repetitive signature details usually fail? (Think Carmen's shoulder biscuits and Angela's little flowers...)

The dress looks like a cake I once saw at a wedding where the bride picked a particularly hideous shade of lavender and the pastry chef made such liberal use of piping that I wondered if she was drunk. It never thought that anyone would want to wear that!

Ah, so close to gorgeous it wasn't even funny. Usually I hate asymetrical looks, but this one wasn't bad til you got around to the back.

I was really hoping JudyN would pick the poofy blue flowers she showed at the beginning of the episode. Disappointed that it was only lavendar, but she met that challenge VERY well.

Definitely better from the front. I didn't like the "frame the ass" noodles or the blue fabric, and I think the diagonal strap would have looked better if she had carried the noodles over onto it.

But I do think she interpreted the plant beautifully.

You can really see the exhaustion setting in with this challenge. Not terrible, but not great. I think the noodles were okay, but the blue looked like she sat down on a piece of blue toilet paper and ended up walking around with it stuck to her rear.

siriuslover said...

Lavender plants have that shade of blue mixed in with the lavender color, and I expect she was thinking about echoing that. It didn't work the way she did it, but I can see where she was going with it.

Ooh, just saw this: "Project Rungay named Best 'Runway' Blog by the Chicago Tribune "

Congratulations, TLo!
xoxoxox

did anyone else notice that the three cool kids were all wearing that neon yellow fabric on their heads at one point? I wonder where that came from.

she looks like she's being eaten alive by a creeping infestation of noodles. there were some pretty elements to this dress, and the noodles could have worked if they had been used more judiciously - but overall, it was kind of a stinker. and frankly, this dress looked more "prom" to me than korto's did.

@ robin: I don't really like the noodles, either.

She should have left the blue tail off.
A lot of repetition and the gown was too busy.
I feel the same way about her final collection --a bit overdone. But overall, Judy Noodles is a designer to watch.

....what kanani said
too busy

I liked the dress from the waist up, a cleaner silhouette from the waist down and I think it would have been perfection. Loved the color, loved the drape.

BTW - did anyone see the recent issue of Elle? Looked to me like there was a lot of noodleness going on. Or am I just noticing it more now thanks to Leanne?

When I saw this, I thought: prom dress. A lovely prom dress, but a prom dress all the same.

If she wanted to incorporate the blue maybe she could have mixed it in with the lilac noodles?

I thought it moved well and I would have picked it for the win based on the VERY QUICK runway segment on the show.

Thanks, as always, TLo, for giving us more details than the producers.

P.S. After the move to Lifetime and LA, maybe they will put them in a house with a hot tub and give them days off and lots of free booze so that the cameras can capture those magical moments for us. blech

No Robin, you are NOT the only one who hates the noodles!
Did you see the runway show she put on? Looked like car filters coming down the runway!

Thanks, Lilithcat. This makes sense now.

Lavender plants have that shade of blue mixed in with the lavender color

If she had used the two colors together more creatively, it would have been really interesting.

Incidentally, her plant wasn't lavender. It looks like campanula which is definitely bluey-er and more fitting to her color scheme.

Here is real lavender:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/nane-zwerg/2584038964/

Which was probably at the botanical garden, but it would have been much more difficult to noodle!

I thought this dress was awful.

Looks better on the dress form than on the model.

I thought it was a very unsophisticated entry for Leanne.

Leanne seems to be wearing her own designs. It'd be interesting to have a retrospective on what she's worn during the show.

I think this was the perfect time for her to go all noodle happy, but she decided to make a very static evening gown (that she didn't have enough time to make )instead. Plus the color is soo flat. She should have dispersed that darker color, or several shades of purple and lavender thoughout the dress, to give it dimension and added some tulle to give it life.
Short happy noodle flower dress that's what Judy needed to make.

Why did the four designers wear yellow ribbons in their hair the day before the runway show? Well, Jerrell had his around his hat.

Agree with all the comments on how they are given the most challenging project at the end - when they are all drooping. Even
LB was so tired toward the end she said she was "tired of living" while she was sewing all those fringe things.
Why not start off with the evening gown and end with car parts and groceries.
As for noodles - you have to be seriously tall and thin and very young indeed to carry that off.

Oh Sewing Siren thanks!!! That is sooooo pretty!

This dress was very close to being an absolute stunner. And she was the only one who even came close to realizing the flower inspiration. She was going in the right direction and I think with some more time and rest she would have been able to pull it off. Based on the runway show I would have given this the win but after seeing the back of the dress in these screen clips I'm not sure so it's a toss-up between her and Jerell. What a shame that neither none of them really pulled it off because I can see both of them designing for Marchesa.

I recently looked at all the final collections again and I think Leanne's is by far the best - it was cohesive, innovative and quite beautiful. I don't think there was a single misstep. And I think she benefits most from having Tim as a judge, since in a number of Tim's Takes he's often thought she should have been a contender for the win. He seems to really get her esthetic. And I read where Princess Puffysleeves said that Leanne's collection was the clear winner and that he thought the others were pretty bad. And he was sitting with the judges so you know he expressed his opinion. So I'm calling Leanne for the win. But since we know the judges rig the outcomes, who knows what they'll want to do.

I thought the dress was gorgeous, except for the blue panel on the back. Leanne is still probably knocking herself on her head for that. Because of the detailing, Leanne should not have even introduced another color. Perhaps she could have held back on the asymmetrical layering of the skirt. I didn't have a problem with the butt noodles, it was like the noodles were a creeping vine, but in a good way.

Tia did a good job selling the dress. I wondered if she would be too girly for Leanne's designs, but she went from cutesy when she modeled Suede's creations to haughty when she modeled Leanne's dress.

i wasn't too crazy about the dress -- it really reminded me of some of the over-the-top-with-embellishments victorian dresses. it was a lovely silhouette, but i agree there was too much "noodling". hated the blue piece attached to the back, and i didn't notice the butt-noodles until seeing the screencaps, but they really are pretty bad.

i agree with others that it's really insane to ask the designers to do something like this on so little sleep. i, too would like to see what they would do with a challenge like this if they could have some rest. of course, we know that all the producers care about is drama -- they could really care less about showcasing true design talent --- otherwise kenley would be gone and blayne & suede would have been gone long before they were actually aufed.

Here we go with the pooping fabric again. Is it really that difficult to understand that random fabric being sewn onto the bottom of the models ass is not going to look great?

The front was way overdone. She drifted dangerously close to beauty queen evening wear with this one.

Kate

The final 4 will be on Regis and Kelly on Wednesday.

Loved the front, hated the back. I guess she ran out of time. Still, she and Jerrell deserved to be in the top and deserve not to be in any final challenge. I just cannot get over that.

Does it appear to anyone else that the judges are all decidedly underwhelmed with the talent this season? Seriously, they all seem bored and/or disgusted with the lot of them. And you can hardly blame them. Lucky for Leanne that she kicks it up a notch or two for her final collection. Perhaps that wakes the judges up, along with some of Kenley's pieces. Otherwise, this season pales significantly in comparison to the last one. Even Tim seems like he couldn't care less. His "last runway show" speech was a throwaway, not at all like season 4, when he had such obvious affection for the final four.

Someone correct me, but I believe the ORIGINAL "pooing fabric" phrase itself was coined right here by TLO, and was in reference to a design that pre-dated Elisa's dress.
-Ignatz

I actually thought Tim hit the nail on the head when he said "Hello Dolly" (or Funny Girl, Showboat, Rags, Gigi, A Little Night Music, whatever).

Kenley's was costumey in a Haloweeny way, but Leanne's was costumey in a musical theater way.

I've been in and/or surrounded by many dresses like that on stage. I think part of it is the very structured bodice - especially the butt-cap. If she had gone with a softer silhouette instead of something that looked like a corset was underneath? Probably would have looked more modern, the noodles probably would have looked more a part of it, and it probably wouldn't have had the execution problems.

Still, I like Judy Noodles, and she didn't have any more problems than anybody else in this challenge. Less, in fact -- better a dress for Irene Malloy than a dress for Monsters Inc.

And, yes....Why was everyone wearing yellow ribbons?

-Ignatz

The fashion philistine in me thinks the treatment on the backside makes me think that a prom/beauty pageant queen sat on a fancy toilet-seat cover, got up and left some toilet paper clinging to the back of her gown.

However, looove the color on Tia! And I do still loooove our little Miss Noodles. This gown was obviously a case of over-noodlification or over-noodle compensation as the result of a lack of sleep and hugs to all of the designers.

- edina -

I thought as so many others seem to, that this dress was bang slap full of potential that there was no time/energy to fulfill. Unlike others, I felt like there was a point to the tacked-on, darker blue remnant. It didn't work at all as an element of the dress - but I took it as a clue that in the designer's head there was MORE to come that would differentiate from a bridesmaid's dress for an evening wedding. Which is what this reminded me of, if the bride were trying to have bridesmaid dresses which she hoped would be a cut above the usual.

Now, had she gone ahead and incorporated the darker blue, it might have pushed the whole look into "too much" without some editing. But, because of the constraints of the contest, we'll only know if her next collection contains something similar.

I still don't get the switching from Karalyn to Tia and how Leanne thought that was an advantage. Karalyn would've rocked this dress.

I like the noodles. That said, Leanne looked so tired this whole episode, and I think it translated to the dress.

Love Judy, but the dress was yucky. She's got talent, and luckily, the other floundered just as much or even more this week.

What's the fine line between a "POV" and "I've seen this before"? I'd like to see a runway show where the designer is not known in advance--judge strictly on the design, with no knowledge of who created what.

I can't believe only Korto's dress was labeled "beauty pageant" attire, because when this one came down the runway, all it needed was a Oregon sash to make the pageant picture complete. The strap in the back even references beauty pageant sashes.

Can someone tell me where one would wear this as an evening gown? I loved Leanne, but this dress has too many issues. The color is evening-wrong, the fabric puckers, and . . . I don't have to comment on the back.

---------------------------------

I'll be interested to hear what Leanne has to say about this. I'm sure someone will ask her at some point. It seems like kind of a risky and somewhat pointless move for her with only a couple of challenges left before the finals. And it turned out to be only one challenge that the model participated in.

That said, Tia is by far the best walker. I hadn't paid that much attention to her when she was modeling Suede's silly clothes but she was a revelation on the runway. She sold the hell out of Leanne's dress. Karalyn is the prettiest in a conventional sense but Tia is the best model left - it isn't even close. She also has more of a high-fashion look. And given that, I can't fault Judy Noodles at all.

Leanne does such a good job of execution, particularly since her fabrics always include such difficult to work with choices such as charmeuse and 4-ply silk crepe, which is what this gown looks to be. If you don't sew you can't truly appreciate how expert she is at this aspect of the show. I've noticed that most of the others do not deliberately choose to do this, but Leanne does and she does a wonderful job of making the garments look luscious, as the fabric deserves to be. Yes, she made some missteps on this gown, but it is so close to being right there where she needed to be.

I'd love to see a breakdown on how much time they had for each challenge.

Just re-watched the episode: they seem to be waking up in the middle of the day and they don't actually get back from Mood and start sewing until almost 6 PM.... So much for "you have two days for this challenge."

Like Season 3, everything was too rushed. Unlike Season 3, these characters aren't strong enough to triumph over this handicap.

Winkleperi,

I find it funny that you question the color on Leann's dress given the play on your name! ha ha.

Anyway, Uncle Nick I thought created a beautiful gown for Kathy Griffin for the Bravo Awards (or whatever that was for) in much the same color as this if I recall. I think it's a beautiful color that, depending on the design, would translate wonderfully to evening wear. But that's only my meagre two cents.

Robin, you are not the only one that dislikes the noodles.

I don't hate them but am sick of seeing them on each and every dress. I don't know why she doesn't get called out on it.

Hey, y'all.

i was watchig Bravo last evening (Sunday) and I thought I saw that there was some kind of Special Project Runway - tonight (Monday) at 8 pm EDT - did anyone else see that?

Oh there were issues with this dress beyond the noodles. The artificial tootie in front, the butt arrow, yikes!

The color was gorgeous on the model, certainly, and the translation from inspiration to dress was good, but Leanne overnoodled.

It was obvious that all the designers were exhausted. Nobody had this one. No one.

Yes, she did hit the inspiration mark but I hated this dress.

Tia looked beautiful but she doesn't fit Leanne's aesthethic very well. Her walk is too playful for noodles.

Make that dress several sizes larger, get rid of the blue in the back, add two sleeves and a high neck and that's what my mother-in-law wore to my wedding 25 years ago. So, I'm sorry, I just can't give an unbiased opinion.

I must say that the dress looked a gazillion times better on Tia than it did on the dress form.

Agnes, how are we to know that the judges didn't ask that question? We're endlessly curious about these things, but the editors are too busy squeezing out every last bit of drama. We get every minute of Kenley's standoff with the judges and no insight into the creative process.

to anon 12:25 I think.....

I love the noodles, look at what she is wearing on the runway. I would love that outfit and the one she made for the NY look, thought she should have won not mean girl

for the air filter look ummmm if it is how FABULOUS the way it is translated
It is a definite look and style, has the most to say....

I love her look, but if you don't that's OK too. we all can't like the same clothes...

I think she isn't getting called because she is using vastly different materials and silhouettes each time. Some have lots a noodles, some have barely any. Some casual and some dressy. Some conseptual and some ordinary.
Also the embellishments we are calling noodles are really several different techniques .

I like it less now that I see the still shots. I agree with Tom in KC about our needing longer runway shows!

TLo, you're right about the front noodles obliterating the front. I didn't even notice the bodice under the noodles. As for the back - oy gevalt! Judy Noodles is tired, and her noodles got away from her. Messy, kinda like when my daughter eats spaghetti! Cheri

Hi guys,

We asked Bravo and they told us that It's a repeat of the last episode but with "info frame"; kind of like pop up video giving you facts about the show and the filming.

XO
T Lo

Tia worked it but lets be honest... THAT BLUE TACKED ON CRAP WAS WACK!

i give noodle the pass this week for going colourblind and tacking on a bolt of random fabric but god....

I think the designers were wearing yellow ribbons because at this point they feel like Bravo has taken them hostage and they want to be released.

Leanne's dress was soft and flowy, gorgeous from the front - I really don't understand why some commentors deem it utterly hideous, though it is somewhat pageanty (and yet Marchesa-ish at the same time).

That said, the bustle on the back was seriously unflattering, while the blue poop was awful; a strange afterthought.

I actually thought the colour of the dress looked better under the yellow runway lights than the workroom (a soft purple, rather than blue-tinged), and was lovely against Tia's skin.

And Tia worked it! Her demeanour was NOT playful at all. Nor would Karalyn have done a better job. Karalyn is very pretty and was certainly the best-looking model for the DvF challenge, and perhaps in general Leanne's dainty aesthetic might suit fair-skinned models. However, IMHO Karalyn is simply not a strong walker - like Germaine, I think she has an oddly hesitant, stilted walk, which is especially obvious in the Inspiration episode.

"P.S. After the move to Lifetime and LA, maybe they will put them in a house with a hot tub and give them days off and lots of free booze"

No doubt, since budgets are getting tight on the production end, they might as well lump all the reality TV contestants together have Janice Dickinson with Project Runway, Brooke Hogan, Kimora Lee Simmons and BBC's You Are What You Eat and Clean House sharing living quarters.

I seriously wore something dreadfully close to that when I was a bridesmaid in a friends wedding in the 80's. Sorry - Miss Noodles blew it for me on this- though it looked like a ton of work, I thought it was fug.

Yes, that blue piece of fabric looked way too incongruous and totally tacked on at the last minute. I just pretended it wasn`t there. (yes I`m happy in my own little world, why do you ask? P) )

Kzspot

I love j. Noodles' work but I didn't like this - very very bridesmaid-y. Even more so than Korto's. I expected something much more cutting-edge from her. But of course, I see why (fatigue, being bitched at by Kenley etc)

However, I wish they'd had the listings read as such 'cause it's likely to be interpreted by most as simply a rerun of last week's episode.

It was a very schizophrenic look to me -- lovely in front but hideous in back. Also in the sketch she showed Tim the front didn't seem to have noodles on both sides in the lower part of the dress (I preferred the sketch version). Leanne is one of my favorites but her BP collection didn't wow me color- or style-wise. I think her best work has been in responding to challenges where the floppy noodles didn't fit so well -- DQ, Saturn, DVF, and zodiac challenges to be specific. I like her better when she goes way out there and makes something that she would never wear herself. I'm not at all sold on the clothes she makes for her personal wardrobe.

Everyone is pointing out how the last challenge usually produces ass dresses from exhausted designers. True enough. But I think there is one stunning exception: Princess Puffysleeves, who put together a gorgeous three-piece (four-piece?) outfit during the Metropolitan Museum challenge. And, as I recall, Jillian also did some pretty fab work. (In fact, so did Rami and Chris. There was none of the half-assedness of this season's top four. What a difference a season makes!)

The dress had a great flow to it but the blue bustle on the back was distracting.

It was my favorite but It's a little overworked, with some editing this dress could be gorgeous.

Leanne rocks! I hope she wins!!!

I really liked Leanne's dress, the lavender was so pretty and lush.

You got me. That made me crack up. The truth is, I inherited this nickname for reasons I can't remember in grade school. I do love purple, though--it's just that this color and dress remind me of junior prom or Miss America.

A question: what does "evening wear" mean to everybody? Having the ability to wear a dress to an awards ceremony doesn't quite cover it for me. I was thinking of something that has a little more versatility to be worn if various evening settings.

3:16 PM

Wikipedia gives a breakdown,

wiki/Project_Runway_Season_5,
but they don't report it down to the number of hours that they had, they just go by what Tim or Heidi said.

Anonymous said...Someone correct me, but I believe the ORIGINAL "pooing fabric" phrase itself was coined right here by TLO, and was in reference to a design that pre-dated Elisa's dress. -Ignatz 1:32 PM

Really, do you remember what challenge and what design?

Yes, Tlo said it first. I think they were talking about Austin's wedding gown. I'll see if I can find it in their archives.

I found it. They actually said "shitting fabric."

Here's what they said back on December 4, 2006 about Austin's wedding gown when they were blogging about Season 1:

"She looks like she's shitting fabric. You just know Michael Kors said the same thing but they edited it out."

and re: pooing fabric. Doesn't Santino make a joke like this, in his Michael Kors voice? That "it looks like it exploded out of a baboon's butt" or something? not exactly pooing fabric, but pretty close.

I have a dream imaginary vision of a dress inspired by honeysuckle, with a cute, clever little hat (flat, with a small piece that curls up like the stamen of a honeysuckle flower). roses are so BORING as inspiration...

Yes this dress had problems--
but it was the best of what was thrown up there--

and yes I do mean "thrown", at this point they are sooooo tired! I couldn't function well at this point either.

"It looks like a baboon's ass exploded out of her backside!"
is how I remember it. and done in a very Paul Lynd voice.

Don't Miss!

Thanks, Chicago!

Is there a link?

Thanks ToddNY, frogboots and Anonymous 9:38 PM.

Hah, love remembering about the pooing fabric phrase. It's a classic!

Too much of the time, it means black, but that is SO boring. But, pastels can look very mother of the bride (to quote the Duchess), or bridesmaidish. Which is exactly what some posters have said about this dress!

The best thing Leanne could do with this dress would be to bury it in her garden for six months in homage to Hussein Chalayan.

Thanks,
Dale.

I agree with those who thought Leanne's dress showed the most potential. The back was a mess, but I'd have given her the win for the front.

One of my favorite moments in the episode was when the judges had already given a favorable review to Leanne, had expressed some concerns about Korto's and then were criticizing Jerell's dress. Tia looks over with a smile and you can tell she's thinking,"I am SO going to Fashion Week." And no model deserves it more than Tia.

Robin- I don't like the noodles either. They are as annoying as Rami's draping to me. I also find Judy Noodles to be very affected. How many times are they going to say "One of you will win and one of you will be OUT" only to cut to a shot of JN looking off to the side, eyes widened. Ugh. I am over her.

I don't like the dress at all, and I especially don't like the back view. Only thing I liked about this design is the colour. I wouldn't wear it but it did look great on the model.

Also, I'm pretty much fed up with noodles, she already produced more noodles than I ever wanted to see in my life.

Does it appear to anyone else that the judges are all decidedly underwhelmed with the talent this season? Seriously, they all seem bored and/or disgusted with the lot of them.

so true. I'm decidedly underwhelmed with the talent on this show too and I am bored and disgusted as well.

I really really hate the color. It's very bridesmaid.

Ugh. That back...

She literally framed her buttcheeks, crack and all.

I immediately thought of the Babs' 'I'm getting ready to fuck Omar Sharif' dress. (Not that it was a BAD thing.;0))

I originally wanted to respond to Karalyn with that. But I was afraid the girl would be too young to recognize that.

Or that I'm getting old.

Well, not TOO old.

The model is gorgeous with a gorgeous figure. The blue bit in the back looks as though it was on the table with the lavender fabric and accidentally sewn on. Did not work.
