So has anyone else noticed how often Korto made the going to Bryant Park claims last epsiode and now again in the previews. That has me REALLY REALLY nervous.

Waterworks, hostility, potential auf-edit, and short-tight-shiny-darn-near-tootie....

I think we all could have predicted this story line.

I have to say that Frau Seal's first outfit made me goggle, and not in a good way, to quote the judges in what's become a somewhat tiresome assessment phrase.

Cheetahs in Tanzania wear that print WELL (I've been there and seen them) -- and it fits! (without weird belly bunching), but Hoochie Heidi missed stunningly. Step away from Noah's Ark of Style, Heidi, or you're going to be turned into a pillar of salt.

In other non-news, I feel increasingly sorry for Kenley, and sorrier for those who were trapped with her for 18 hour work days and then went home with her at night. No-one is intentionally that unlikable who is so obviously dying to be praised & liked. I've decided that Kenley is an actress paid and planted by the producers to increase the drama this season because most everyone else is so mild-mannered and nice. Try this alternate reality if you've completely had it with the bitch. It'll do wonders for your blood pressure.

I was really concerned about the middle section of the 2nd preview. Where Kenley is walking on the street. She is wearing a different top from when she gets the challenge. And it almost sounds like "I made the final three" when that segment starts.
I hope that is not true and Jerrell makes the final three. But the bottom line is that Jerrell will have a future in fashion and Kenley probably won't. She has burned bridges and alienated too many people with her attitude. The sad thing is that she has some talent but not enough to make most people want to work with her.

That runway preview is scaring me! Oh, please, send Kenley HOME!!

I was just thinking that Terri's elimination looks more and more like a horrible mistake, doesn't it? I mean, from a design point of view. Kenley is making for good TV but I also like to watch PR for the clothes. It's also supposed to be about the clothes, Magical Elves!

These trailers usually paint the opposite picture of what's going to happen. Remember last week's promo all but assured us that Kenley was getting the boot? MY reality has it that Ken is leaving & Jerell is crying for joy. Rah-eet?

Would they have the finalists blocked together? No, Jerell is in.

There are huge differences between Wendy Pepper and Kenley Collins: Kenley is a talented designer with considerable confidence in her abilities (sometimes too much) while Wendy was a mass of insecurities in that department; Kenley approached this as a design competition where Wendy thought she was on Survivor constantly concocting strategies for squeaking by; Wendy was a frightened middle-aged mother still stuck in her home-town who saw this game as her last chance to show the world that she wasn't a loser, Kenley is an immature young woman who went to New York on her own and has done all right for herself so far. Kenley has real potential as a designer, Wendy didn't. The only point of similarity is that the other designers (and the malignant fairies who produce and edit the show)have fixated on Kenley as this season's villain. At least Kenley made two good friends while she was there: Stella and Daniel. And I'm sure if she wanted to work for Diane von Furstenberg, the lady would probably give her a job.

Anyway, as for final 3, I maintain that is is the gals. Check out the styling on their models. Uniform, relevant to their looks/ esthetics. Then look at J's. Either he got some MAJOR editing help in the styling dept or someone else is making all the decisions. And when you realize he is sharing some of Leanne's models (with the same styling), that's a pretty bad sign for him.

My guess is that Jerell is gone. I hate to say it, but I think he is. All 3 men go first at BP which would make it simpler for the production crew (they don't turn on the camera until Kenley who shows fourth) and if this is the wedding dress challenge, Kenley does make a very pretty one. Jerell's is more, ummmmm, taste-specific (as the realtors say).

I'm not as invested in these last few episodes given that all of these folks showed at BP and the best designers showed the best collections.

This is a bit off this particular topic, but for those folks who thought Leanne's switching to Tia was unfair to Karalyn, remember the green challenge when Leanne was clearly in the bottom 3 and Karalyn was asked if this was the dress she wanted. Karalyn said no and kind of threw Leanne under the bus. Leanne ended up in the bottom 2 and almost got aufed. In contrast, poor Tia had to walk down the runway in all of Suede's monstrosities and made them look better than they should have. And she would have been out now that Suede's gone. Leanne snatching her seems like the one time when it really was a competition for the models too and doing a great job paid off for Tia. She's in the finale with one of the best designers.

I agree. Leanne's switching to Tia really was one of the few times where you see it's actually a competition for the models, too. Tia is fantastic, and I think Leanne made a smart choice in snapping her up.

Karalyn doesn't have the super tall ruler body type or the long necked look that Leanne prefers. Karalyn has a more everyday, girl next door commercial look. i see why Leanne did what she did.

Okay...I know I've said this before but after seeing the previews edit I feel it even more ardently..

I think Kenley may pull an upset of Leanne or Korto in the final challenge. The clues point toward Leanne however.

The clues:

Tim (in some publication) said the judges were "on crack this season" .

The PRG/TLo team reported that some of the past season designers gave Leanne a standing O during her show! That's not only unprecedented, it seems slightly bad form and I can only deduce from that that it was a statement of protest. Tongues wagged enough within that little fraternity so that everyone knew Leanne was a decoy!

Whenever the Elves feature a designer saying that another designer should have "gone home awhile ago"...it's the throwing stones designer they usually send home!

The photo still of Leanne after her show. Her expression is less thn effervescent. While Kenley looks jubilant at the start of her's. Hardly the expression of a decoy.

I'm not Kenley, not related to her, and have never met her. I'm twice her age, male, queer and have been a working artist for thirty years. I and a few of the other commentators on this post genuinely like Kenley's work. Not every piece of it, but in general I like her work. I've been watching Project Runway since its inception and I have very good memory. And I've left many comments on this blog since I discovered it a year and a half ago. I really don't believe Ms. Collins is so masochistic that she would come here. I sign my comments "Dale" because that's my first name. My full name is Dale Wittig. You can google it if you want to. Others have. I'm not ashamed of who I am. I haven't had the most distinguished career as an artist but I've done all right. I wouldn't want anyone else's life. I've done enough, I don't need to live vicariously through others' representations.

Stop the Madness!

As I have said EVERY season when the wrong person has been auf'd - I refuse to keep watching this charade... until next time.

I think Heidi looks BEAUTIFUL without the makeup (or minimalist makeup). That is true beauty.

So this is the crash and burn episode. They all look wrecked.

I'm hoping Kenley gets booted and goes right into therapy (where she can wave hello to Keith).

I think Kenley wins first prize for being the most insecure designer ever on PR. I feel sorry for her. She has no confidence at all. If she believed in herself, she wouldn't act like a child whenever questioned.

She's a very immature 25 yr old who is learning a hard lesson in front of a very large audience. She reminds me of how I was at age 17, self-centered, reacting to any critique from an emotional defensive place, not listening to reason. I cringe at the thought of being televised at that time in my life! Poor girl.


What a shame, she has a lot of potential. If only she weren't so insecure she could listen to others' input and receive guidance. Hope she pulls it together after this experience. At this time, who will touch her? Can you imagine someone like DVF putting up with this pouting child who only wants to do things her way and won't listen to anyone else? Not a chance. She's poison and it's all her own doing.

She's a late bloomer in the maturity department, but Kenley has some sewing skills and can design, so maybe in time she'll learn and take something valuable from this experience. She won't win BP. It will be Korto or Leanne.

I believe the past season designers did that because Leanne's collection is groundbreaking and amazingly beautiful. She could very well set a trend for sculptural fashion. Her color choices were immaculate, well edited, and beautiful on women of widely varied skin tones. Her shapes were wearable and flattering, but surprising at the same time. Her collection is better than Christian's last year, IMO, but then I am not into the Goth Little Lord Fauntleroy look.

I'm hoping that Tim's comment was related to Stella's aufing over one bomb, when designers with much less talent were kept longer.

If Leanne is not in the finals, the show will lose heaps of credibility, and will become a joke.

If Kors and Nina's expressions are any indication of what happens tomorrow....I can't wait.

And everyone hates you, Kenley, not because you're a "go-getter" but because you're a "back-stabber!" There's a difference, honey.

But I think Tim's comment may have been about the Suede auf and keeping Kenley in.

If Leanne doesn't win, then Korto will. Kenley is thrown in for drama not talent, so she will beat Jerrell for that reason alone, but won't win PR. I wonder if the judges will keep her last, standing next to Leanne or Korto, just to get her reaction when she loses. I wouldn't put it past the producers to do that.

It's not fair to Jerrell, that they auf him and keep a lesser talented designer in for drama. It's like a bad joke, this whole Kenley disaster. But at least he got to show a collection, even if it wasn't for the win.

oodles of noodles- you could very well be right. I believe they send Suede home because they really wanted to do it the previous week. I thought his outfit for Jerrell was actually one of the more successful designs in that it wasn't hideous, but his design the previous week, (the jacket part of it) caused them to question his taste. After seeing his BP shoe, I believe they did the right thing. At least Kenley's BP show was well constructed and pretty.

I have to say that Kenley is not totally untalented, though I find her style derivative and incoherent, even in her BP show, which I won't discuss till it is "official". She is young and her designs feel like clever student efforts, and reminiscent not of the 40s/50s but of the way vintage was incorporated into wardrobes in the 70's and 80's. She would probably do well as a personal shopper for some quirky young starlet, rather than trying for original designs.

About Wendy Pepper, not that it really matters, but when the Magical Elves started editing her as a Mom trapped in a small no-where town, I burst out laughing.
Her town is about as high end as you can get with lots and lots and lots of money. Lots of formal events requiring dresses. Lots of very rich folks, many of whom have second homes elsewhere.

I'm not from there; I grew up about 40 miles from there, and the name of that town was a synomyn for "if you have to ask, you can't afford it".

We should all be 'trapped' in such digs.

I think Tim Gunn had it right on his talk show interview when he said Kenley's a bundle of insecurities. She's got the bravado of a high strung pomeranian, barking at huge strangers so she doesn't feel insignificant. Daddy issues of some sort, no doubt. Unfortunately, that analysis, whether on the money or not, doesn't excuse her behavior on the show. She's so far out of line that she's in a different line altogether. Let's hope it's the line for therapy, happy pills, and sleepy time.

Much as I've come to love Miz Jerell more and more, I think he's the one to be auf'ed and Kenley will go to BP along with Korto and Leann.

The final always has a villain in it. And to be fair, I do think Kenley does have some skills and I can see her having one of her good days and Jerell have one of his days where his taste is off and he didn't edit enough. So Kenley is in and Jerell is aut.

I hope that the drinks tomorrow in the TLo lounge will be stiff and often. Just how I like my men. Sorry, couldn't resist.

As worried as I am that Korto, Jerell, and Leanne are also crying...there looks like another fun amount of Kenley delusion going on in this episode, and I can't wait to see it!

I wonder who's poor boob placement will piss off Heidi this week. She does not look like she's in the mood to be outside anywhere!

I wish I felt some empathy for Kenley but she has been so self delusional through out this season and has not taken any responsibility for her failures or stepped out of her comfort zone. To continue to blame Leeanne for the Hip Hop failure when even Li'l Kim couldn't have helped it is just the last straw. When you have not developed any personal contacts with people you have spent all this time with then you are at fault. Especially with someone (Jerell) that you aren't rooming with and can't irritate by taking up the bathroom for primping. She needs a crash course in the real world.

Kenley seems to be one of those kids who was just never guided or got the emotional support she ever needed. She's a fairly narcissistic personality --everything is about her fight, her journey, her vision.

She's not the only one on that stage, or in any big city that puts it all on the line and risks a lot.

And I can't say that going on a reality TV show, being compensated, receiving free publicity is really risking much beyond lack of sleep, a bit of well documented humiliation. What's been shown is that most of the contestants have had many opportunities since their appearance on the show. So really, she's risking only her pride by being on that show.

I hope Kenley makes it to the Final 3 because I want to hear what she has to say about Korto and Leanne's collections, especially because we've seen them already and know that they're fabulous.

Kenley reminds me exactly of a young girl I worked with. Very spoiled girl from a rich family. Broke all the rules, management bent over backwards to give her a break, only to have her break all the rules even more. Always boo-hoo, they're out to get me, I'm the best one here, even though she failed on every level of the job. Total loud drama, she never shut up. She ended up fired, moved to the wrong side of the tracks. Last I saw her was at a hamburger stand. She was a strung out mess and the drugs only increased her paranoia: eyes darting around, skin broken out, and still saying she was the only one with any ambition.

I really hope Kenley doesn't make it to the final 3. You know I'm just tired of hearing how she had it so hard, etc. You know every person has their own cross to bear in life. I'm tired of her trying to make herself seem like a martyr and she feels as though that gives her the right to be a rude a$$. If she makes it to the final 3 and doesn't win I can't even imagine what kind of out-of-control hissy fit she'll throw on the runway. She should go to psycho therapy, not Bryant Park.

There are just big chunks missing in her personality, a defensiveness that only comes from being emotionally neglected and not imbued with social skills. And get this... it's probably a family trait. It's a whole damned family of Kenleys lacking in consideration, thoughtfulness and patience.

She says she's always had to fight.

But what's she looking for?
For Kenley, I think. Because bottom line --Kenley doesn't believe or like herself very much. She very much wants to please others, but is too afraid to get along.

I've never posted on here - though I love reading you all and I'm a huge fan of Project Runway. Just have to weigh in on the Kenley question. I'm with Dale and others who admire her style and see her promise and can't quite figure out why we still root for her. I actually really really love her dresses and would love to wear them. There is some Dutch or Belgian word that means the feeling you have when you see someone doing something stupid and you are embarrassed for them - that is what I feel watching her. The judges and the (truly) beloved Tim are giving her valuable feedback - the other contestants are not. They are perhaps so strung out, tired, competitive, stung by her bad behavior to be caring or charitable, but they have crossed a line in my book. They are ganging up on her in a way that makes me cringe for them AND Kenley. This last episode was painful to watch.
