Heidirama!

Frau Seal won the Style Icon of the Year award (puh-leeze) at Us Weekly's "Hot Hollywood 2008" party and Us mistakenly described her frock as a Victorya Hong original. (Bitches must read us. They fixed it) Take one look at that draped thing and you can tell who made it. If you can't tell, BPR will tell you.

"It's a great compliment!" says Heidi. "It tells me that I have a great stylist who finds me amazing things and my hair and makeup team are doing a good job!"

Well, props to her for admitting that she pays people to make her look good. We don't love the dress, though. It doesn't seem to do much for her figure.

In other Heidi news, the Teutonic Titwillow mistakenly believes that when barristas and flight attendants bitch about their ugly uniforms, that means she's being approached to redesign them.

"I go to the same Starbucks every day in Beverly Hills and they're like, 'Can you please tell them that we want to have new outfits?' I sit in American Airlines, same thing. I get it all the time. Those chains or big companies, they always come to me. It would be fun, because so many people would see the results."

She's cute when she talks about the peasants.

She needs better "people". And a longer dress.

Re: the BPR post, I can’t watch the video clip right now so I don’t know the details, but – WTF?? Rami was honored by the L.A. City Council?? Could LA make itself seem more frivolous? (Believe it or not, there are real issues to be faced in LaLaLand.)

Anonymous said...

The dress is cute, but I agree with Joan, a bit too short.

Anonymous said...

She looks hot. I’m not digging the shoes with her outfit though. They look chip in a chip way.

Anonymous said...

It’s amazing how great she can look with simple makeup and hair. I agree on the shoes. WTF?

Anonymous said...

I personally don't think the dress is very flattering. The strange wrinkles from the first photo looks as if she's grown a penis.

Anonymous said...

Her bangs are driving me CRAZY!!! The dress is OK.

Anonymous said...

of course once again Rami will put a drape around the hips and even goddess Heidi will look bad on it! at least he didn't do it in his usual drab color....and yes, it's a little short, even for her... but if I had those legs, I would flaunt them every occasion I had!

Anonymous said...

It's good to see her wearing something designed by a PR contestant. Congratulations, Rami!

Anonymous said...

I love Rami but can he designed something that isn't draped?

i just realized: the color of the dress matches the carpet!! did he know that in advance??? :-)

Fitting issues, party of one!!

I love the dress, Heidi looks smokin' HOT. GO RAMI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Great color, but the fit and proportions of the dress are very unflattering, and it takes A LOT to make Heidi look "meh".

Yes, Heidi, it would be "fun," in fact it would be hilarious!

The dress is the same old Rami. Good for him, though.

The bodice is a little low (but not in a good way), the waist is a little high, the hips are a little poufy, and yes, Rami did give her a package. How can so many things go wrong in such a limited amount of space?

I have to agree. Heidi does not look good with a fringe. It makes her look ten years older.

DolceLorenzo said...

For some reason I hate that kind of bodice. It always looks like something Jessica Rabbit would wear.

Heidi looks beautiful and the dress is very flattering on her. Great job, Rami!

I like the dress and Heidi definitely has the body to pull it off, and the color looked great on her sun-kissed tanned skin.

Brian said...

I think it's a cute dress.

Anonymous said...

I think I'm just happy she didn't wear ticky-tack jewelry or, god help me, yellow accessories. For Frau Seal, it's really tasteful!

Dress is not made for anything but standing still with legs in that stupid cross-legged pose, though. Look at it gapping in the first photo.

As for her commentary on how she can help the world of coffee serving folk, she can't help but put her foot in her mouth, can she? sigh.

Anonymous said...

The dress shrunk her breasts and made her hips more pronounced.

Anonymous said...

I'm happy for Rami, I liked the dress.

I'm not surprised Heidi would select a Rami Kashou when being honored as a style icon. Congrats to Rami!

She should be wearing one of the PR winners' design. She adds N-O-T-H-I-N-G to the credibility of this show.

I don't blame her for not wearing one of this seasons winner designs. LOL!

I disagree. Heidi brings a TON of credibilty to the show. There were 3 finalists and everyone on the show, all 15 designers, are important.

Congratulations to Rami!

ANYWAY, I am so glad you posted this pix 'cause I HATE this dress! Where is her waist? She looks completely shapeless through the torso (and we have been provided with ample photographic evidence elsewhere that she is not). And the construction, I'm sorry, but other than the ubiquitious drapage up top, the rest of it looks very 4-H County Fair sewing project to me. No blue ribbon for Rami from me!

Anonymous said...

I love the eggplant color in contrast to her beautiful blond hair.

I’m not hating on Rami, but the dress doesn’t fit her well. Nothing to do with the color or anything, she just should have had a better fitting so that it would flatter her body better.

I just finished watching season one on dvd. In the reunion show in particulat, Heidi looked beautiful. Perfect hair and makeup and she looked soo much younger. I think she badly needs a new stylist!

Anonymous said...

I LOVE THE DRESS!!!! IT'S GORGEOUS!!!! RAMI ROCKS!!!! YOU'RE JUST JEALOUS!!!!

Anonymous said...

the dress doesn't make sense in the cooler climates (It's still mild and overcast where I am), but it was HOT HOT HOT in southern california recently, like in the 90s in LA I think.

This dress makes more sense in the climate. I assume this was taken in southern california. I think it's a good color for her.

Not to criticize too harshly, but I think people are being a bit too critical here. She looks good, the dress is a tad on the short side, but I'm pretty sure she dressed for the weather, which is appropriate.

I dunno, I think it works. It's not gonna make "best dressed list" but it's more than acceptable.

Aha! That WAS him! My husband and I were walking past City Hall to go to the Hall of Records when my hubby nudged me and pointed Rami out in the distance. I wasn't too sure, but the shirt in the video matches what we saw. My husband's great at spotting celebs. Last month, at the Rose Bowl flea market antiques section, "Hey, that kid from Entourage (Adrian Grenier) just walked by." He was carrying a painting and had a mortar shell slung over his shoulder.

This is interesting:

"The new issue of Us Weekly has a "25 PAGE FASHION BONUS!" (their punctuation, not ours). We knew we'd be in for a night of tossing and turning if we didn't know who the "HOT HOLLYWOOD STYLE WINNERS" were, so we bought the issue and flipped through. The Celebrity Designer of the Year is — surprise! — Lauren Conrad, and the Star Design (whatever that is) winners are Kimora Lee Simmons and Sean "Diddy" Combs. We thought it couldn't get any better, but we kept flipping and came upon Nicky Hilton, Snoop Dogg and his wife, Shante, Brody Jenner, and Heidi Montag sporting her inseamless shorts. In need of the fashion equivalent of a shower, we took a crack at the mag's Q&A with Heidi Klum, their Style Icon of the Year, wherein we noticed this nugget:

What's the most important rule for dressing up?Not to do too many things. Don't go hoochie-mama: big hair, red lips, dark eye shadow, lots of lashes, short skirt, boobs out, high heels. Too much! Pick one thing. If you have great legs, wear something super-short with a great shoe and keep your boobs tucked in.

Now didn't Klum's Oscar-party outfit (pictured above) include a short skirt, boobs out, high heels, and lots of lashes? The woman looks hot, but there's something to be said for practicing what one preaches."

Anonymous said...

Hahahaha. She forgot to add "Unless you're a supermodel like me."

It's nice to love Rami, but it's another thing to be completely out of your mind. Is Rami the most successful PR designer? So far, no.

it really reminds me of a high school sewing project -- i'm a little shocked to see rami put something so poorly fitted out there...the top flattens her out (ok, we saw plenty of that from rami....), it makes her look really short-waisted and the pooch in the front is because it's too tight around the bottom and there's nowhere for the drapes to go...i like some of rami's stuff, but i really don't like this one...

like the color tho....

Anonymous said...

Is she pregnant again? She's got no waist in that dress.

Anonymous said...

Colour: beautiful

Top: pretty good. Kudos for not going über-drapey.

Skirt: no. Bad length. Worse fit. It didn't sit well at all. In fact, it made her look like the dress wasn't even fitted for her and it came off a rack sized for the average height of a woman... which I would guess isa good 4 inches shorter than Ms. Heidi.

I donno. I'm under-wowed by it. No great compliment to Rami... .

Anonymous said...

Anonymous 6:52, that was MY thought exactly when I saw the pics. Maybe Rami was designing the dress with baby bump room. Certainly appears that way.

I manage a starbucks, and im sorry, as much as i love project runway, i can't see them designing something that i'd be able to move, clean and fire people in. please leave our uniforms alone!

Aaaah what happened to the blog header? The word "project" seems to have mysteriously disappeared! And I can't begin to tell you how much I loved the old slogan - "They sew, we rip." :(

Oh, poop! I was in the mood for a good conspiracy theory!

But add me to the list of those who already miss "They sew. We rip!"

Hmmm... hard to tell from the photos (and I'm too lazy to go looking for better.) Are those shoes Candie's from the juniors department at Frau Seal's local Kohl's store?

Whoa!!! OK, a logo change may be just a logo change, and I like the look of the new logo, but are you changing the name of the blog? And the tagline? Will the blog no longer focus on Project Runway? Does this have anything to do with the switch to Lifetime?

You guys know that you'll have many faithful readers either way, but I hope you don't shift the focus away from Project Runway!

"The new issue of Us Weekly has a "25 PAGE FASHION BONUS!"

I was stuck on a plane today with that mag and it was TORTURE reading through the 25 supposed "style icons." I had to gouge my eyes out three times. You're right Bettie, Heidi clearly doesn't follow the advice she gives others.

I'm not sure what to think of the case of the missing "Project" in the new logo/header, but I think there is a possibility that a conspiracy lurks. I also think that it is a foregone conclusion that a single Rami fan had a lot of time on their hands today.

Holy Titscrepancy!
Unholy Polterwang!
Great color, in spite of the rest of it...and Heidi's LEGS are amazing!

Like the new logo, mast head, banner, whatever. Missing the sew/rip tagline. But I understand. Sometimes you just have to get some new accessories for even your favorite outfits.

Who did the silhoutte artwork? It's lovely.

Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but I really believe that the hem of your skirt or dress should never be higher than the tips of your fingers. That said, the color is pretty, and Heidi looks, as Heidi always does, lovely as a summer morning.

Hate the shoes, though.

What a clever dress. It's convertible -- she could get pregnant again and still wear it!

Love the new site header and new direction, you guys. It looks awesome.

While I appreciate TLo posting that there was no conspiracy, the Weinstein company making noise about legal action to bear isn't really a conspiracy, is it? It's just corporate America, bearing down on a beloved blogsite. booooo!

I can't say I love the Charlie's Angels-like silhouettes but I'll get used to it.

Carry on,

Guys, no one asked us to change our logo or the name of our blog. The change has nothing to do with the Weinstein Company or Lifetime. We simply wanted a fresher look.

I actually like the new header, but I kinda miss the old catchphrase. :-)

Personally, I'd enjoy seeing a PR task where they design a uniform for a large scale operation. One of my favorite episodes is the Post Office challenge from Season One, and the "Project Catwalk" show in the UK has done airline outfits and hotel workers. It's a small thing, but no one wants to look like they work at Denny's or Holiday Inn.

Besides, given the lousy economic situation most airlines are in at this time, the show is about the only way they could afford to update their designs...

It's too short. Mid-thigh would be more flattering.

uncle! uncle! Okay, no threats, no noise from the Weinstein company, I believe you.

thanks, boys, for your continuing fabulosity
